This study is to perform the numerical simulation to predict the development of the ship waves and their propagation in shallow water region for Busan New Port. In order to predict the propagation of ship waves according to various ship"s size and weight tonnage under shallow water depth, a computer model is developed based on Boussinesque equation with a fixed coordinate system. Also, the simulation is performed using program developed by Namseeg Hong in order to make the propagation form of the ship waves. The simulation shows the propagation form of the ship waves and the wave height in front of the sea wall. It is found from the investigation of simulation results that the effect of ship wave is negligible at the Busan new port.

The structural behavior of a worn tire, attached to carbon fiber steel pile by current and wave forces, has been investigated through the numerical method. The finite element model has been developed, by considering that the composite material of rubber and cord is orthotropic, the rubber is isotropic, and that all the material behaves as linear elastic. The pressure distribution by wave and current, around the worn tire, has been estimated through the adjustment for the concept of flow separation. Also, the structural behavior of the worn tire has been examined, by comparing the situation wherein the space between the pile is reinforced, and tire as elastic and isotropic material, with the one left empty. Through this comparison, it is determined that the space between pile and tire has to be filled with elastic and isotropic material, in order to avoid the failure by wave and current action.
부유체하부의 3차원 흐름해석을 위한 Rigid lid 경계조건의 적용

In this paper, the rigid lid boundary condition is applied to simulate the influence of floating structures such as or pontoons, and the pressure term in both the momentum equations and continuity equation are modified. The pressure of a floating structure under the free surface is dependent on the draft of the structure, generally called a ship. If the free surface is covered by a floating structure, the free surface cannot move freely. The water level should be fixed, using a rigid lid boundary condition. This boundary condition is implemented by reducing the storage area of the grid cell with a factor between zero and one. The numerical model developed by Hong (2009) is verified through a comparison with experimental results, and the influence of the reduction factor is investigated using the verified numerical model.

The Navy has tested the holding capacity of many kinds of anchors in order to propose the design chart for the holding capacity of drag-embedment anchors. The design chart is only applicable up to the cable bottom angle 6° when load is raised to the ultimate weight. However, the anchor experiences a significant uplift force when the angle is above 6° in shallow seas. In this paper, the procedure for the estimation of the holding capacity of anchors in mud is proposed. Drag-embedment anchors do not function well when there is a significant uplift component of load in soft seafloor materials, such as mud. Under these loading and seafloor conditions, gravity anchors seems to be more efficient. However, they are too heavy for their holding capacity. Therefore, suction pile (hollow concrete block) is more beneficial to the foundation of silt protector in shallow sea with mud seafloor materials.

In this study, structural analysis of worn tire to current forces is performed to investigate its behavior charateristics. For the behavior analysis of worn tire, finite element model representing orthotropic material of tire, SAP, and ANSYS are applied. In case of finite element model used in this study, the material and geometric nonlinearities are not considered. And also, the analysis of large deformation and the contact element of three dimensional structure is not given in SAP. Two dimensional link element may be used in stead of contact element. Mean while, ANSYS provides three dimensional contact elements in order to do contact analysis and give the supplementary results which SAP doesn't cover.

여러개의 단위체 연결로 이루어진 거대부체구조물의 구조해석을 위해 강성연결과 핀 형식의 연결요소가 고려되었다. 2차원 유연체해석 이론(수탄성 이론)을 적용하여 결과가 제시된다. 동수역학적 계수를 구하기 위해 경계요소법이 사용되었으며 부체자체는 연직방향으로 파랑에 반응하는 연체보로 보았다. 해석결과는 거대부체 구조물의 설계에 필요한 변위와 내력에 관한 개념을 제시한다.
Dynamic Analysis of Extensible Riser with Geometric and Hydrodynamic Nonlinearity

The riser system accounts for the geometric nonlinearity due to large structural displacements and the nonlinear boundary conditions. And also, it includes a steady flow inside the pipe which is modeled as extensible tubular beam subject to nonlinear hydrodynamic loads such as current or wave excitation. The constraint condition on unit tangent vector of deflected riser is utilized in the nonlinear dynamic analysis of riser. This does lead to the reduction of the degrees of freedom and remove the possibility of the divergence in solutions. Extensible condition in axial direction of riser is also implemented. The matrix equation of equilibrium for the finite element system is constructed by applying Galerkin finite element approximation and the time incremental operator and then, the algorithm for numerical calculation is proposed. The validity of proposed model is given through the comparison with the results from API reports and the results of sample computations.

Long time morphological change near Jinwoo-do area caused by the construction of Busan Newport has been investigated. The external force on seabed has been computed by performing wave-current interaction which has an influence on the morphological change. The influence due to wave on flow field and seabed change occurs from the shallow water depth around Jinwoo-do. And also, it shows that the sand from Nak-dong river in summer period stacks and moves to Jinwoo-do area during long period of time.
