This study was surveyed ninety six handicraft workshops in twenty two cities and counties in Jeollanam-do on the effect of handling items, types of workshops, number of monthly visitors and persons experienced, and its effects on local tourism. As for the ratio of craft workshops by item handled, textile and ceramic workshops increased most by 23.7%, followed by wood working(15.3%), the others (9.4%), leather(6.8%) and metal craft(4.2%). As for the types of operation for ‘craft workshops, stores + experience facilities + type of workshop’ were the most common by 68.8%, following ‘store + experience facility + cafe type’(14.6%), ‘type of workplace’(7.3%), and ‘stores + experience center’(3.1%). Average number of visitors per month by the type of workshops such as ‘stores + type of workshops’, ‘stores + experience center + the type of workshops’, and ‘type of workplace’ were less than 100 people per month by 71.4%. As a result of investigating the degree of visitors by local residents and outsiders to workshops using 5-point scale method, people in the region increased in the order of spring(4.32), fall(4.18), summer(3.32) and winter(2.68). The degree of visitors by outsiders to craft workshops was high in the order of summer(4.39), winter(3.56), autumn(3.38) and spring(2.93). In the results of the survey on the impact of local tourism, it was shown in the order of much(42.7%), ordinary(35.4%), no impact(12.5%) and very much(9.4%). Therefore, it was found that the workshop of crafts requires great research and utilization in terms of the resources of local tourism.
Fusion and Practical Use of Korean Traditional Dyeing with Persimmon Juice and Indonesia Batik
Heo, Buk-Gu(허북구) 부산대학교 문화유산보존연구소 2018 한국전통복식연구소 학술심포지움 Vol.2018 No.10
In Korea, there is a persimmon tannin dyeing which is a differentiated tradition from other countries, and it is still an important part in natural dyeing, but it is insufficient in terms of introduction and expression of sophisticated patterns. Indonesian batik has the advantage of expressing various patterns precisely, but fastness is a problem. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the utilization of dyed cloth and dyeing itself by introducing various patterns by batik dyeing in Korea’s persimmon tannin dyeing. In Indonesia, it is possible to dye in batik at room temperature and it is necessary to improve the fastness by using persimmon tannin which has a high fastness.
