Formocresol의 농도 변화에 따른 치수조직의 반응에 대한 연구

The purpose of this study was to evaluate pulp tissue reactions to various concentrations of formocresol (full concentration, 1/5, 1/25, 1/125 diluted concentrations of Buckley's formoresol). Young adult mongrel dongs, again 1 year, weighting 10㎏ or more, were used in this investigation. Pulpotomies with various concentrations of formocresol were performed on dog's teeth. Intervals from pulpotomy to sacrifice were 1, 2, 5, and 10weeks, All specimens containing pulpotomized teeth were fixed in 10% neutral formalin solution, decalcifide in Plank Richlo solution, embedded in praffin and sectioned 6-8μm in thickness. All sectioned tissues were stained with hematoxylin-eosin stain mothod. The following results were obtained through microscopical examination. 1. The pulp tissue reaction to 1/5 dilution group of formocresol were similar to that of full concentration group. 2. The full concentration and 1/5 dilution groups of formocresol were effective, but 1/25 and 1/125 dilution groups of formocresol were not effective in fixing the pulp tissue. 3. The 1/25 and 1/125 dilution groups of formocresol produced severs inflammatory reaction in the pulp tissue, and formed suppuration with increased experimental time. 4. All specimens showed progression of inflammatory and degenerative changes toward apical region with increased experimental time.

The patients visiting pediatric dental office have been being younger than the previous, and they were often combined with systemic disease. But, we aren't able to perform the verbal communication, because of their impediment and youthfullness. And, we can't carry out the behavior control via physical restraint, as the developed social structure and the attitude of children and their parents. So, the importance and concerning of conscious sedation using sedative medicine are increased by time and time. Among the various conscious sedation, Chloral Hydrate and Nitrous Oxide inhalation are most popularly used, and barbiturates, benzodiazepine, opioids and hydroxyzine are used often. But, these medications have some side-effects and adverse reactions, may be failed to sedate the children. And limited use of medically compromised patients, especially for ASA class Ⅲ, Ⅳ or more dangerous patients. We, the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Chosun University have met some dangerous situation due to unfavorable pharmacogenic reactions, but we can control the situation and get well healed results. The below results are common situations and their solutions during conscious sedation. 1. By the intravenous administration, thrombophlebitis is the most common side-effects, but it may be healed with time without any special treatment. 2. Under the definitive guidelines about conscious-sedation, we can perform a safe conscious sedation for ASA class Ⅲ patients. 3. When adversed reaction of Benzodiazepine is occured, it could be cared effectively with benzodiazepine antagonist, named Flumazenil.
성장기 아동에서의 경추의 화골형태와 두개안면부 성장변화에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study was to investigate the growth patterns of craniofacial areas in association with ossification events of cervical in growing children. The subjects used in this study were 476 children, ranging from 8 to 16 years of age, with good health, none of them recieved orthodontic treatment. Cephalometric radiographs were used to evaluate the growth patterns of the craniofacial area and the cervical vertebrae, and their relationships. Data was analyzed by SAS statistical program on computer. The results were as follows. 1. The chronologic age at peak height velocity(PHV) was 13-14 years in male and 12-13 years in female and it’s timing was synchronous with Cervical Vertebral Stage(CVS) 3-4. 2. The increased measurements in accordance with skeletal maturation of vertebrae were anterior cranial base length, posterior cranial base length, ramus height, mandibular body length, anterior facial height, posterior facial height, facial length, facial depth, SNA, SNB, and facial plane angle. In contrast, The decreased measurements were gonial angle, and mandibular plane(SN)Go Gn) 3. There was a close correlation between the linear growth of the craniofacial area and skeletal maturity of the cervical vertebrae but the angular measurements and the denture pattern showed a low correlation with the skeletal maturation of the cervical vertebrae. 4. The growth rate of the cranial area was even but that of the mandibular area was in peak synchronous with pubertal growth spurt of cervical vertebrae. 5. The timing of each skeletal stage of the cervical vertebrae forward in girls than of in boys but the linear measurements of the craniofacial area were larger in boys than those of in girls at each stage of skeletal maturity of the cervical vertebrae.

Premature loss of primary teeth is of concern not only because of the loss of function, esthetics, growth of jaw, phonetics, but because of the increased possibility that the other teeth may drift. Thus, when a primary tooth is removed prematurely, space maintainer must to need. Recently patients and parents were recognized at space maintainer. Although they are understand it, they don't know that it will be remove and check. And also space maintainer appliance were had many problem. Of 50 pediatric patients in department of pediatric dentistry, it's problem were exaimed. It were that exfoliation of band, laceration of band, gingival inflammation, gingval impingement, enamel decalcification, food impaction, overeruption of primary canine, occlusion disturbance, attrision of opposite teeth, gingival overeruption of primary canine, occlusion disturbance, attrision of opposite teeth, gingival hyperplasia, solder joint fracture, acrylic resin fracture. etc.
