Accuracy of fatigue analysis highly depends on several parameters such as fatigue properties of material. load data of each loading point, mean stress, and static analysis (sometimes modal analysis or transient analysis) results. etc. Most parameters extracted from test have normal or other distribution and are usually decided from mean values of those distribution. But fatigue test result can be different due to test situation like temperature, test jig setup, and manufacturing technique of specimen etc. Therefore to get more accurate fatigue analysis results it is often peformed to test special specimen for acquisition of fatigue properties. In this paper, the effects of these variables are examined to predict fatigue life. Also, advanced method such as multi-axial fatigue analysis is discussed. Analysis based on uniaxial and biaxial calculations are compared for the Knuckle component.
