The present study discussed literature education and system of compiling textbooks. The points can be summarized as follows. First, all systems have regulations that take on strictness. Systems require a stability which can be obtained by a registration process. Hence the efforts to eradicate the strictness of the systems are required. Furthermore due to the radical changes of today, elastic control of literature education, through the system of compiling a literature textbook is required. Second, ecological and reasonable viewpoints are required in order to eradicate the strictness of the systems while maintaining the stability of the systems. Ecological viewpoints does not mean that onesided view is required, but mean that the wisdom which utilizes the related complex is required. Reasonable viewpoints mean rational thinking process in decision making. Third, literature textbook must be compiled by open textbook viewpoint to reduce inversive function of textbook systems, and authorized textbook systems have to be extended toward the liberal publication system on textbooks. Fourth, we have to cope with the situation of 21st century which is called an information-oriented society. An information-oriented society is characterized by digitization and ethical relativism. But we can subjugate such problem by releasing literature from textbook systems. So we ought to get ready for literature textbook systems which are appropriate 21st century. Fifth, the need of literature education to prepare unification of south and north Korea is on the increase. Therefore we need to think south and north Korea with metacognition and to devise new canon by rational thinking process in decision making. Sixth, separation of student's real life literature experiences and literature experiences in classroom is going to be expanded. So literature textbook which was not regarded as canon has to be carried in literature textbook and the authorities concerned ought to support creative works of youth literature.

1. Outline of Survey This survey is driven by Korean language Education Department in Inchon Teacher's College tenthly. (1) Period of survey 1. Nov.91-2. Nov.91 (2) area of Survey Nonhyo˘n Dong & Gojan Dong (3) formalities of Survey Interviewing. After setting up headquarter of survey in Nonhyon Elementary School, 1 interviewed old natives personally. 2. Findings of Survey I found 255 items at this Survey like examples below. <examples> ㆍ Sewing for essential articles (clothes) of a marriage should be done by happy Women. ㆍ A pregnant has to eat nice food. ㆍ If a pregnant goes over reins, she gives birth to a child of twelve month long. ㆍ If a pregnant eats duck meat, her baby's fingers stick each other and toes do the same. ㆍ The dirty clothes should not be boiled within twenty one days after baby's birth. ㆍ Don't drive a nail after childbirth. ㆍ Don't place the head of a dead body to the direction Where "SON"is. ("SON" is a evil Spirt disturbing person's activity.) ㆍ The dead body stands up, if a Cat passes over the dead body. ㆍ Don't prepare a peach on the Sacrificial table. ㆍ Locking at burins briskly in dream is good, but looking at being put out is bad. ㆍ If a tooth is pulled out in dream, someone meets his death. ㆍ She who was born in the fear of horse (especially White horse) is unhappy. ㆍ If someone raises dogs or fowls for a long time, it turns itself into something. ㆍ If someone gives a whistle at night, a snake enters in the house. 3. Taboo - expressing Sentences Confirmed by old natives. I investigated 25 Concrete cases fermenting bad things by going against Taboo as fallowing. < examples of cases > ㆍ Don't drive a nail within twenty one days after childbirth. ㆍ If a household mascot is seen, a bad thing happens. ㆍ If a tooth is pulled out in dream, someone meets his death. 4. End of survey I could not collect taboo-expressing sentences abundantly, because survey area is Incho˘n, namely a big city under direct control of the government. But I confirmed most of the taboos of other areas are also found in this area. A study on meaning of Taboo-expressing sentences is put off to next chance.
