본 연구는 중등교사신규임용후보자선정경쟁시험(이하 임용시험)에 관한 연구로서 미술교사 신규임용제도를 분석하고 현직 미술교사의 임용시험에 관한 경험과 견해를 토대로 미술교사 양성과 선발과정에 시사점을 도출하는 것에 목적을 둔다. 기존의 미술과 임용시험에 관한 연구에서 미술교사들의 경험과 견해를 분석한 연구는 이루어 지지 않고 있었다. 그러므로 실제 임용시험과 학교현장을 경험한 미술교사들을 대상으로 신규임용제도를 분석한 것은 미술교사 신규임용제도의 실질적인 타당도를 높일 수 있는 기초연구가 될 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 미술교사들의 목소리를 통해 신규임용제도의 현안을 파악하고 학교현장과 임용시험의 연계성을 높일 수 있는 방안과 개선안을 도출했다는 점에 의의가 있다. This study explores the secondary school art teachers' experiences of appointment examination and proposes the means to improve the appointment examination. It analyzes the appointment system for new art teachers and aims to find meaningful implications in the current training and selection system based on the experiences and opinions of those who have taken the examination. To fulfill the purpose of this study. five art teachers participated in an in-depth discussion to provide their opinions on the current appointment examination. The frequency and cross analysis of the collected survey results performed. and the recorded in-depth discussion was transcribed with an analysis per topic of the discussion followed. The summary of the research results are as the following. First. the teachers thought that the imbalanced supply and demand of art teachers create a hyper-competition which causes both individual and societal damage. Therefore. license without examination should be promoted long-term. and demand strategy is necessary. Second. the appointment examination does not reflect the field. In order to address this. the evaluation of practical teaching skills should be further promoted. and the necessary evaluation method needs to be studied. Detailed evaluation tool is needed for both teaching demo and interview evaluation. Third. the centralized appointment system bears the risk of conformity. and research on art teacher-specific appointment examination is necessary. Previous research on art teacher appointment examination left behind the analysis of experience and opinion of current art teachers. Therefore. research that focuses on art teachers who have first-hand experience in training and the appointment examination can address the validity of the appointment system. Therefore. this research provides significant implications in that it assessed the current status of the system and proposed the measures to improve the relevance between the appointment examination and the actual practice of teaching discussed in terms of the current status through art teachers' experience.
