토양 방선균 Actinomycetes G-0299의 바랭이에 대한 선택적 살초특성

방선균 G-0299의 살초특성을 확인하여 천연 제초제 후보소재로서의 가능성을 검토하고자 수행하였다. 선발된 방선균 G-0299는 바랭이에서만 살초력이 발휘되었을 뿐만 아니라 경엽처리 효과, 엽록소 함량 등의 생리 생화학적인 반응에서 광조건에서만 발현되는 독특한 살초특성을 보였다. 방선균 G-0299 배양 여액 농축 시료를 처리했을 때 속효성이며, 고사 또는 백화현상이 발현되는 등의 특징으로부터 광합성 저해 또는 protox 저해 제초제와 비슷한 작용기전을 갖고 있을 가능성을 유추해 볼 수 있겠으나 오직 바랭이에서만 살초력이 발휘되는 특이한 현상을 고려하면 상관성을 설명하기는 곤란하였다. 따라서 천연 제초활성 후보소재 방선균 G-0299의 보다 상세한 살초기 전에 관해서는 추가 연구를 통해 구명되어야 할 것이다. An actinomycetes isolate G-0299 obtained from a forest soil showed strong phytotoxic activity to Digitaria ciliaris. For the foliar application study, the culture filtrate of the isolate G-0299 showed strong herbicidal activity only to D. ciliaris among the 12 monocot and 5 dicot weed species. And herbicidal activity at a concentration of 500, 250, 125 and $62.5{\mu}gmL^{-1}$ of culture filtrate was 100%, 98%, 70% and 40%, respectively. Phytotoxic symptoms of the culture filtrate by foliar application were desiccation and burn-down or bleaching of leaves and finally plant death. And then the herbicidal activity was exhibited only under the light condition. Also, chlorophyll loss of D. ciliaris leaf tissues in the light condition was much higher than in the dark condition and then chlorophyll content decreased 82%, 5%, respectively. In conclusion, our results suggest that soil bacteria, isolate G-0299 could be a good candidate for new bio-herbicide and provide a new lead molecule for a more unique herbicide.
천연 Naphthoquinone계 Juglone의 KAPAS 저해 및 제초활성 특성

식물 유래 naphthoquinone 계 juglone의 신규 제초제 작용점 KAPAS에 대한 in vitro 및 in vivo에서의 활성 평가를 통해 천연물 유래 제초제로서의 가능을 검토하였다. Juglone은 농도의존적인 반응으로 KAPAS를 효과적으로 저해하였으며, 50% 저해농도는 9.5 μM이었다. 바랭이(Digitaria sanquinalis)에 대한 경엽처리에서 juglone 125, 250, 500 및 1,000㎍ mL-1 농도에서의 활성정도는 각각 70, 95, 100 및 100%이었다. 또한, 8종의 화본과 및 광엽잡초에 대한 juglone 2,000 및 1,000 ㎍ mL-1 농도에서의 살초력은 완전하였으며(100%), 500㎍ mL-1에서도 90~100%이었다. Juglone을 처리했을 때 나타나는 주요 증상은 고사(desiccation) 또는 화염상(burndown) 이었다. Juglone 처리에 의한 전해물질 누출은 광조건에 관계없이 농도의존적으로 일어났으나, 엽록소 함량 감소 정도는 광조건에서도 경미한 수준이었으며, 암 조건에서는 전혀 일어나지 않았다. Juglone에 의해 억제되었던 애기장대 종자의 발아율은 biotin 공급에 의해 뚜렷하게 회복되었다. 이상의 실험결과에 의하면 천연 naphthoquinone계 juglone은 신규 제초제 작용점 KAPAS 를 효과적으로 저해하는 친환경적인 천연물 유래 제초제로서의 가능성을 확인하였다. The potential of juglone a plant naphthoquinone as a natural herbicide on new target, 7-keto-8-amino pelargonic acid synthetase (KAPAS) in the early step of biotin biosynthesis pathway, was performed in vitro and in vivo. Juglone effectively inhibited KAPAS activities in vitro and the IC50 was 9.5 μM. Foliar application of juglone showed very good herbicidal activity to the eight-tested weed species. Among them, Solanum nigrum was completely controlled at a concentration of 250 μg mL-1 with main symptoms of desiccation or burndown. Digitaria sanguinalis and Aeschynomene indica were also sensitive to juglone treatment. All eight weed species were controlled by 90∼100% at a concentration of 500 μg mL-1. However, soil application of juglone to Digitaria sanguinalis did not show any herbicidal symptoms. Cellular leakage from cucumber leaf squares treated with juglone increased depending on the concentrations increased from 6.25 to 100 μM after 24 hours incubation with or without light. However, chlorophyll loss in cucumber leaf squares was negligible. Biotin supplements significantly rescued the inhibition of germination rate of Arabidopsis thaliana seeds previously inhibited by the juglone. Our results suggest that the juglone is a possible environmental friendly herbicide candidate with a new target KAPAS inhibiting activity.

Ethnolinguistics is a method to seize some aspects of recent theories about Chinese linguistics and Chinese culture. The relation between national language and culture is very close, but it is somewhat risky to stress excessively peculiarity of Chinese national culture and language, especially its written characters. Recently, in China, some scholars argue against the universality of Western grammaticality and call for the return of rhetoric. Their arguments are must be scrutinized, for rhetoric is not characteristic of Chinese only, and other languages have also their own rhetoric. After all, claims to the uniqueness and incommensurability of Chineseness is doubtful, therefore, claims of Chinese ethnolinguistics and cultural nationalism have their own limits.

Ernest Fenollosa"s essay "The Chinese Written Character as a Medium for Poetry" has exerted influece on the study of Chinese Literature almost a century long. Many scholars and poets praise this essay, but others, especially philological sinologists, criticize it. In Korea, there has been no discussion about this essay, but just rumors about it, because there is no Korean translation of it. Here is the first Korean translation of the essay, annotation added. From this translation, scholars of Chinese literature in Korea may get some helps in studying the western views on China and her literature.
