Magnetic properties of FeMoN, FeMoTaN, FeTaN and FeTaC films deposited by DC magnetron reactive sputter were investigated, and correlated with their microstructure. FeMoN films were not showen the soft magnetic properties, because of generated Fe₂Mo, Fe_(3-2)N and Fe₄N phases. Ta added films, however, effectivly retarded the α-Fe grain growth and suppressed the generation of Fe nitrides or carbides during heat treatement. The soft magnetic properties of Bs: 15 kG, Hc: 0.25 Oe, μ' 4000(at 5 ㎒), and Bs: 14.5 kG, Hc: 0.25 Oe, μ': 2700 (5㎒) were observed in Fe_(78.8)Ta_(8.5)N_(12.7) and Fe_(75.6)Ta_(8.l)C_(16.3) films, respectively.

Continuous wave CO_2 laser beam welding was carried out to study the weldability of SAPH steel plates with different thicknesses. The effects of gap size in butt welding of SAPH steel plates was as followed; In the range of the gap size≥0.1mm, the optimal welding speed was faster than obtained from no-gap(air gap) condition, which this behavior was independent on the difference of thickness at any combination. The allowable gap size in butt welding of steel plate with different thickness was larger than with same thickness because a side of different thickness is take more extra throat thickness than same thickness. In the range of the gap size≥0.2mm, filler wire must be used for full penetration.
Mechanical Alloying Behavior in the Immiscible Al-Bi Alloy System

Mechanical alloying(MA) was carried out to investigate the MA behavior of the immiscible Al-10, 3oat% Bi alloys. By the MA processing, Al and Bi were finely and homogeneously alloyed. The Bi crystallite size decreased down to 25nm and 30nm in Al-10at% Bi and Al-30at% Bi alloys, respectively. With increasing the MA time, the hardness increased up to Hv8O, which value was larger than that obtained from the rule of mixtures. The lattice parairleter of Bl decreased about 0.27%, which shows the formation of non-equilibrium hcp Bi super-saturated solid solution. The extended solubility of Al in Bi was 1.9%.
