치수보호용 제재가 성견 치수조직에 미치는 영향에 관한 병리조직학적 연구

This study was undertaken to evaluate the pulpal responses to the intermediate restorative materials such as Zinc phosphate cement, Polycarboxylate cement, IRM (zinc oxide eugenol cement), Dycal, Life, Cresatin, and Fluoride in cavities which were cut with high speed instrument. 5 dogs were used as experimental animals and devided into 8 groups. The intervals of observa-observation ranged 3 days, 1, 3, 4, 8 weeks after experiment respectively. The specimens were fixed with 10% formalin and decalcified in 5% nitric acid. All slides were stained with hemtoxylin-eosin and examined histopathologically. The results were as follows: 1. In control group, severe vacuolar degeneration and atrophy of odontoblasts were seen in 3 days, hemorrhage and congestion continued until 8 weeks. Necrosis of odontoblastic layer was seen in zinc phosphate cement group and polycarboxylate cement group. 2. In dycal group, vacuolar degeneration and atrophy of odontoblast were not seen. but in Life group, these were seen in 3 days and partially continued until 3 weeks. In 4 weeks, regeneration of odontoblast was occurred. 3. In Cresatin group, there was no pathosis except odontoblastic displacement. In Fluoride group, vacuolar degeneration of odontoblast was seen and soon disappeared. As compared with control group, pathological change of the pulp tissue in experimental group were decreased after amalgam restoration.

The author have observed a case of supernumerary tooth occured between the maxillary right primary central Incisor and lateral incisor. Supernumerary permanent tooth is a common clinical finding, but supernumerary primary tooth is very rare. Supernumerary tooth result from aberrations in the initiation or proliferation period of the life cycle of the tooth.

This is a case report of difficult eruption of succeeding permanent tooth by periapical inflammation of primary tooth. 12-year-8-month-old girl who had been treated by pulpotomy of lower right second primary molar about 4 years ago was recalled for prolonged retention of it. Radiographs showed periapical inflammation of lower right second primary molar and horizontal buccal impaction of succeeding permanent tooth. Right second premolar seemed impossible to erupt so surgical extraction of it was done with removal of lower right second primary molar and resin space maintainer was manipulated for prevention of space closure and elongation of opposing tooth.
실험적구루병에서 백서 치아조직 변화에 관한 현미경학적 연구

Rickets is not the deposite of minerals in the skeletal tissue and the retardation of skeletal growth in growing in growing animals. This study was undertaken to investigate the histologic effects of experimental rickets on the dental structure of the albino rats, and to show the relationship between the histological effects and the pulpal disease which induced premature loss of the primary teeth. This study was based on material obtained from 40 white rats that placed on a rachitogenic diet for a period 1 to 56 days after weaning (at 24 days). In addition, a study was made of 25 litter mates, 24 to 80 days, that were fed a normal diet. The following results were obtained: 1. Enamel formation and calcification showed no significant changes and no hypoplasia. 2. Dentin formation and calcification was retarded and disturbed. In the experimental group, predentin/calcified dentin was remarkablly increased. 3. Newly formed dentin showed interglobular texture (less homogenous calcification) and the predentin was significantly wider and thicker, and there was an irregular wave in the basal portion of the rat's incisors. 4. In cementum, Matrix formed at almost a normal rate but calcification was defective. So cementoid tissue was increasesd. 5. The formation of the alveolar bone was at almost a normal rate but calcification was retarded. The trabecular bone was filled with osteoid tissue and thicker than in normal groups.

Currently, two kinds of orthopaedic implant fixation methods are popular: cemented and cementless. However, the longevity of the implant fixation is limited by its weak strength, wear debris and poor biocompatibility of the cement, or stress shielding and difficulty in revision of the cementless. In this study, we are evaluating a new concept of the implant fixation using a bone-friendly buffer between the implant and the bone. The PEEK was selected as the buffer material in this study. A tapered smooth implant is wedged into the buffer so that the taper-lock effect can be obtained persistently. We performed a finite element analysis to evaluate this fixation in mechanical aspect. We compared the buffered implant fixation with the cemented and cementless implant fixations. The buffered fixation had greater cyclic compression for the bone compared to the rough cement fixation and less failure risk factors compared to the polished cement fixation. Moreover, the buffered fixation had widely distributed compression compared to the cementless fixation. The FEA results show that the buffered implant fixation encourage an appropriate mechanical environments.
