Asymmetrical and unbalanced features such as rotor blade of helicopter, actuator of hard-disk in personal computer are usually manufactured with composite materials. In this case, mass distributions and center of gravity of the parts are important because of their static balancing. Therefore in the manufacturing processes, it is needed to check out the exact data of weight and gravity center. In this study, it has been studied experimentally the balancing of laminated rotor blade by using multiple-point weighing method and lab-view system.

In the present study a new measurement technique has been developed, which uses an ultrasonic transmission signal<br/> in order to determine the vertical two phase flow pattern. The ultrasonic measurement system developed in the present<br/> study not only provides the measurement functions required for the determination of vertical two phase flow pattern but<br/> also makes the real time determination possible. The developed ultrasonic measurement system accurately determined<br/> the various vertical two phase flow patterns such as bubbly, slug, churn, annular flow etc. In addition to the<br/> determination of flow patterns, the qualitative information for each flow pattern can be obtained, which includes void<br/> fraction in bubbly flow, length of slug bubble and liquid tail characteristics in slug flow, and stable or transient<br/> condition of the flow patterns, etc.

Experiments were performed to determine the thermal (or turbulent) diffusion coefficient (TDC) and to investigate the critical heat flux (CHF) performance in the 5×5 rod bundle with 5 unheated rods which are supported by Hybrid Mixing Vane. In this study, HFC-134a fluid was used as working fluid and the fluid temperature were measured in the important subchannels. To determine the TDC value, the measured fluid temperatures were compared with the predicted values obtained from the MATRA code. The best optimized value of β was found to be 0.02 by considering prediction statistics, i.e., average and standard deviations of the differences between the experimental results and code calculations. Using the best optimized value of β as 0.02, the MATRA code predicts the test results of the fluid temperature within ±1.0 % of error. According to the experimental results on CHF of 5 non-heating guide tubes, the case with non-heating guide tube showed a little good performance in terms of CHF.

In Korea, enteric infectious diseases are found throughout the year, in endemic,, as well as epidemic fashions. For the preventions such diseases, notably typhoid and paratyphoid fevers, bacterial suspension killed by heating. process have used conventionally. However, these heat killed vaccine cannot be expected to possess the sufficieient antigenicity as in case clinical or subclinical infection. Previously, the authors studied gamma ray irradiated Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The experimental results have performed an immunological study of gamma ray in-a-. Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and found that they are superior to the conventional BCG vaccines in the immunization process. These gamma irradiated bacteria are known to be incapable of cell -divisions and multiplications, but capable of performing minimum oxygen uptake, and therefore not virulent to cause the diseases. In view. of the above fact, the authors have done an experimental study in which 42-A-58 strain of Salmonella typhi was selected and gamma ray irradiation of the minimal dosage sufficient to stop division and multiplication was given. These irradiated strains were injected to animals and compared to the chemical treated typhoid bacilli processed similarly. The irradiated group showed elevation of 0 and H antibody titers comparable to the chemically treated group.
