Preparation and photocatalytic effect of MWCNT/TiO<sub>2</sub> composites

$C/TiO_2$ composites were prepared with surface modified MWCNT sequentially after HCl treatment and TNB as titanium source. There is a single crystal structure which is anatase in all of the samples from the data of XRD. The SEM microphotographs of $C/TiO_2$ composites show that the $TiO_2$ particles were well mixed with the CNT. There are C, O and Al with strong Ti peaks in all samples from EDX results, and it also shows that the sample CT has much more amount of C and Ti content than that of sample HCT. Finally, the photocatalytic activities for the $C/TiO_2$ composites have more effective than that of pristine $TiO_2$.

$CNT/TiO_2$ composites were prepared by using multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) and various titanium alkoxide precursors. The composites were comprehensively characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy. The photoactivity of the prepared materials under UV irradiation, was tested using the conversion of MB from model aqueous solution. Finally, according to the results of methylene blue (MB) removal experiment, we could see that sample CTOS have better MB removal effect than samples CTIP and CTPP.

열처리 온도에 따라 제조된 탄소 코팅된 TiO<sub>2</sub>에 대한 광촉매 효과

Carbon-coated $TiO_2$ was prepared by $CCl_4$ solvent mixing method with different heat treatment temperature (HTT). Since the carbon layers derived from pitch on the $TiO_2$ particles were porous, the carbon-coated $TiO_2$ sample series showed a good adsorptivity and photo decomposition activity. The BET surface area was decreased by the increasing of the heat treatment temperature. The SEM results present to the characterization of surface texture on the carbon-coated $TiO_2$ sample and carbon distributions on the surfaces for all the materials used. The main elements of C, O and Ti were shown from EDX spectra. And the quantity of these elements is very rich in the samples. From XRD data, the pristine anatase peaks were observed in the X-ray diffraction patterns for the carbon-coated $TiO_2$ at the different HTTs. However, the rutile peaks were observed for the carbon-coated $TiO_2$ at HTT of 1073 K and 1123 K. Finally, the excellent photocatalytic activity of carbon-coated $TiO_2$ with UV-vis spectra between absorbance and time could be attributed to the homogeneous coated carbon on the external surface and structural phase transform, and the photocatalytic activity was decreased by the increasing of the HTT.

우리는 탄소 전구체로 활성탄 (AC), 활성탄 섬유 (ACF)와 탄소나노튜브 (MWCNT)와 티타늄 전구체로써 TNB를 사용하여 탄소-TiO2 복합체를 제조하였으며, 이들의 특성을SEM, TEM, BET, XRD와 EDX를 이용하여 분석하였다. 그리고 이들의 광촉매 활성은 UV 램프 조사에서 일정한 농도의 MB 용액을 이용하여 측정하였다. UV조사한 후에 MB의 농도는 UV-vis 분광광도기를 이용하여 측정하였다. We used activated carbon (AC), activated carbon fiber (ACF) and multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)as carbon sources and titanium n-butoxide as titanium source to prepare carbon-TiO2 composites. For characterization their properties, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), BET surface area, X-ray diffraction(XRD) and energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) were used. And the photoactivity of the carbon-TiO2 composites, underUV irradiation, was tested using the fixed concentration of methylene blue (MB, C16H18N3S·Cl·3H2O) in aqueous solution. After UV irradiation for a certain time, the concentration of MB solution was determined by UV-vis absorption spectroscopy.
The reaction rate of polysilanes prepared by eledtroreduction with dirrerent monomers and additives

In this study, polysilanes were synthesized by electroreduction with different monomers such as CH3HSiCl2, PhSiCl3, CH3SiCl3 and (CH3)2SiCl2 by Mg electrodes under ultrasonic radiation. The effects of monomers and additives (p-dibromobenzene (DBB), naphthalene (NAPH) and anthracene (ANTH)) on the reaction rate were investigated. Polymerization of PhSiCl3 among the four monomers showed the highest rate. pdibromobenzene (DBB) was proved the most effective additive. Based on the observations, some possible reaction mechanisms of the polymerization were proposed.
