In a product development, it is difficult for manufacturers to derive a new design from the demands of consumers as quickly as possible. Although a product design is through, one needs to reconsider a geometrical modification of the model under certain circumstances or a redesign request. In this case, altering an existing model data will cause a delay on a product development time. It is necessary for a designer to manage lots of parameter with an existing knowledge or with a in-house know-how. By doing so, it will bring up the optimized values of parameters in the early design stage. In this paper, a new approach to improve the process with optimized parameters is proposed to reduce a product development time of the excavator front design.

It is continued to study on a knowledge based system for supporting a design of an excavator front group. However, an analysis of a knowledge type and structure of the excavator design was lack. The architecture of the system was not designed with a well-organized knowledge. In this research, an analysis of the knowledge type and structure of the excavator design is performed. Based on the analysis, a knowledge model and a knowledge based system for the excavator design is proposed and implemented.

A meeting is an assembly or gathering at a prearranged time, usually to discuss specific topics and to exchange information about the specific topics. It is essential for an efficient group meeting to provide an organized representation of the meeting. A representation of ontology for the meeting will be an answer for the organized representation to support the meeting efficiently. Moreover the ontology can provide an inference scheme from the meeting concepts such as domains, sub-domains, classes, properties, and relationship of meetings. In this paper the strategy for the domain decomposition, the definition of features, and the ways in which features are shared by various operations and structure changes, are discussed. We conclude with a discussion of some of the issues raised by the project and the steps underway to address them.
