Cracks in mass concrete structures caused by the hydration heat of the cement have been a well-known phenomenon. Methods of reducing or avoiding such cracks have been proposed in design specifications. Simulation of thermal stresses and crack occurrence can be carried out based on the specifications. Prediction for thermal crack in mass concrete structures, such as massive concrete bridge structures, is influenced by simulation results. Therefore, the purpose of this study is focused on the comparison of specifications regarding to thermal stress and crack in mass concrete structures.
