태권도 산업 활성화 전략: 태권도장의 프랜차이즈 사업 방식을 중심으로

본 연구는 국내외 태권도 프랜차이즈의 현황 분석을 바탕으로, 태권도 산업 활성화 방안을 목적으로 하고 있으며 연구내용은 다음과 같다. 본 연구는 국내외 프랜차이즈 형태로 운영되는 태권도장 현황을 조사·분석하였다. 구체적으로 본 연구는 미국과 한국의 태권도 프랜차이즈의 사업조직 형태, 규모, 수익구조 등을 조사·분석하였다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 심층면접 및 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문조사는 국내 태권도장을 운영하고 있는 240명의 관장들을 대상으로 하였으며, 태권도 프랜차이즈에 대한 전반적인 문제점 및 발전방향 도출을 위한 문항으로 구성하였다. 국내외 태권도 프랜차이즈 도장 운영자들과의 면담 결과와 설문조사의 결과를 바탕으로 태권도 프랜차이즈에 대한 발전 방향을 제시하였으며, 태권도 프랜차이즈에 대한 구조적인 개선점을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구결과 심층면접을 통해서 한국과 미국의 태권도 프랜차이즈 조직의 형태 및 경영현황을 비교하여 파악할 수 있었으며, 설문조사를 통해 최종적으로 프랜차이즈 가맹본부는 국내 태권도 프랜차이즈 사업방식의 활성화를 위해 인적자원관리의 비효율성 개선, 프랜차이즈 제공 교육프로그램의 질적 향상, 수익창출을 위한 마케팅 방식의 변화 및 전문성 확보 등을 시급히 개선해야 할 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of this study was to activate the Taekwondo industry based on the analysis of the Taekwondo franchise. Contents of the research are as follows. This study analyzed the current situation of domestic and oversea Taekwondo-gym which is franchise form. Specifically, this study examined the business organization shape, size, revenue structure of Taekwondo franchise in the United States and South Korea. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, in-depth interviews and surveys were conducted. The survey was targeted at 240 Taekwondo Master who manage the Taekwondo-Gym in Korea. And the questionnaire was consisted of questions for the overall development for the derivation of Taekwondo franchise. Based on results of the survey and interviews from operators of Taekwondo-Gym in Korea and overseas, the goal of this study is to suggest a direction of improvement as well as structural improvement for the Taekwondo franchise. Our overall approach was to identify issues need to be urgently improved. The anticipated outcome of our research identify following areas for subject for change. Overall improvements from human resource management, training programs by franchise, marketing strategies, and professionalism by franchise headquarters are required in order to promote the industry.
