동해안 〈세존풀이〉에 함의된 무불 관계와무속의 자기 인식

본고는 무불의 만남과 갈등, 그 포용과 동화의 역사적 지층이 녹아 있는 동해안 <세존풀이>를 통해 무속이 불교와의 관계를 어떻게 바라보고 있는지, 그리고 그 과정에서 스스로를 어떻게 자각하게 되었는지를 탐구하고자 했다. <세존풀이>에서 ‘세존’은 다른 지역본의 동일 인물형에 비하여 불교적 성격을 전면에 표방하고 있었다. 그리고 ‘당금애기’는 불교적 세존 신격에 응대하는 존재로서 구체적으로 무속신의 성격을 표상하고 있었다. 동해안 <세존풀이>에는 당금애기의 독특한 2차적 좌정 과정이 등장하는데, 이 과정을 무불의 갈등과 화해라는 역사적 사실의 무속적 재현으로 판단하였다. 그리고 이러한 무불 갈등과 화해의 서사 구조는 작품 전반을 통해 중층적으로 반복되고 있음을 확인하였다. 한편, 이 작품에 나타나는 무속의 자기 인식은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 무도(巫道)가 불도(佛道)보다 높다는 자기 우월의식, 둘째, 무불이 상호 호혜성을 기반으로 동반 성장한다는 관념, 셋째, 무불이 공존하지만 서로의 뿌리가 엄연히 다르다는 자각이다. 이러한 설정은 불교에 결코 뒤처지지 않는 도를 갖고 있는 무속의 자신감이자, 무속이 불교를 완성시키는 능력자라는 인식이다. 이로써 지금까지 불교 본위에서 해석된 『삼국유사』 내의 무불 관계 설정은 무속신화로 돌아왔을 때, 똑같이 적용될 수 없음을 확인하게 되었다. This paper intends to explore how the shamanism sees relations with Buddhism and how he became aware of himself in the process through <Sejonpuri> on the east coast. In <Sejonpuri>, ‘Sejon’ was advocating Buddhist character in the front, Compared to other local versions. And ‘Danggeumaegi’ represented the character of shamanism as a being responding to Buddhist God. The East Coast <Sejongut-puri> has a unique secondary strait process of Danggeumaegi. This study judged this process as a shamanistic representation of historical facts of conflict and reconciliation between shamanism and Buddhism. And it was confirmed that the narrative structure of this conflict and reconciliation is repeated in a multi-layered manner through the whole work. On the other hand, the self-awareness of shamanism in this work is as follows. First, it is self-superiority that shamanism is higher than Buddhism. Second, shamanism and Buddhism grow together based on mutual reciprocity. Third, shamanism and Buddhism coexist, but their roots are distinctly different. This setting is the confidence of shamanism that has a Tao that is never behind Buddhism, and the perception that shamanism is a power to complete Buddhism. As a result, the relationship between shamanism and Buddhism in the 『Samguk-Yusa』, When it returned to the shamanism myth, it was confirmed that it could not be applied equally.

옛이야기 그림책 출판 실태와 미래 모색 : 전집과 시리즈를 중심으로

본고는 우리 옛이야기가 그림책으로 어떻게 실천되고 있는지 그 실상을 확인하고, 옛이야기 그림책의 올바른 방향성을 제시하고자 하였다. 우리나라 유아동 옛이야기 그림책의 일반적인 형편을 확인할 수 있는 단행본 시리즈와 전집류 45종을 분석대상으로 삼았다. 이를 통해 옛이야기 그림책 출판시장에서는 단행본보다 전집이 주도하고 있음을 확인하고, 지금까지 학계에서 개별 단행본 중심으로 학문적 논의가 진행되어온 한계를 지적하였다. 옛이야기 그림책 선집의 문제로는 학습성을 전면적으로 내세우는 점을 제기하였다. 또한 출판사별 목록의 개성화가 이루어지지 않는 현재를 짚었다. 옛이야기 그림책의 미래에 대해서는 지금까지의 학습 지향적 모습을 탈피할 것을 주문하였다. 그리고 옛이야기의 정전 구성 작업에 학계가 적극 참여할 것을 요구하였다. 옛이야기 그림책 출판의 전반적 흐름과 쟁점에 대해 거시적인 시각으로 들여다보고, 미래의 옛이야기 그림책이 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하였다는 점에서 이 연구의 의미를 둔다. This paper describes how our old story is manifested as a picture book and attempts to suggest a suitable direction for old story picture books. As a series of old story picture books that can confirm the general condition of Korea’s old story picture book, 45 anthologies were analyzed. This study has led to confirm that ‘the complete works’ are leading the old story picture book’s publication. Therefore, it was confirmed that the discussion of academia centered on ‘one volume’ has its limit of not reflecting the reality. The problem with the anthology of the old story picture books is that it contains too much educational information related to the work, and the list of works overlaps quite a lot with that of other companies. This study suggests that the future of old story picture books should be deviated from the excessive educational orientation, and that the academic community should actively participate in the composition of the canon of the old story. This study is meaningful in that it examines the overall flow and issues of the publication of old story picture books from a macro perspective and suggests the direction for future old story picture books.
