Switched diversity offers one of the lowest complexity solution for fading mitigation. There are several algorithms for selecting the path such as selection combining (SC), switch and examine combining (SEC), and switch and examine combining with post-examing (SECps). In this paper, we propose a new switched diversity scheme, switch and examine combining with adaptive threshold (SEC-AT). SEC-AT exploits adaptive threshold updated by SNR information of previous path. Simulation result show that the SEC-AT improves bit error rate (BER) performance compared to SECps.
