The SLF(Short Line Fault) breaking capability test for high voltage class SF? GCB(Gas Circuit Breaker) was conducted. Simplified LC resonant circuit test facility was used for SLF breaking test. During test, Test current was measured by Rogwski coil and arc voltage was measured by voltage divider. Arc conductance was calculated by using these test results before 200㎱ at current zero. Critical arc conductance value at rated voltage 145㎸ class is about 2.3mS regardless of breaking current magnitude and arc conductance value at rated voltage 170㎸ class is about 2.6mS.

SF? gas circuit breakers are widely used for short circuit current interruption in EHV or UHV power system. For a SF? gas circuit breaker development, the hot gas velocity measurement is necessary during SF? gas circuit breaker s trip operation. Small-gap flashover characteristics are used for tills hot gas velocity measurement. This study sho ws the hot gas velocity measurement results during SF6 gas circuit breaker' trip operation.

SF? gas circuit breakers are widely used for short circuit current interruption in EHV(Extra High Voltage) or UHV(Ultra High Voltage) power systems. To develop SF? gas circuit breakers, the arc resistance value is necessary to compare experimental results to numerical ones. The arc resistance value can be obtained from a breaking test with a SF? gas circuit breaker. The direct testing or synthetic testing facility is widely used to verify the breaking ability for SF? gas circuit breakers. We employed the simplified synthetic testing facility to test a SF? gas circuit breaker prototype. The arc resistance characteristic was measured and calculated under the various experimental conditions. This arc resistance value can be used for verifying the numerical results from arc simulation in a circuit breakers.
SF₆ 가스 중의 삼중점 절연파괴 예측기술에 관한 연구

Triple junction which consists of three media(electrode, insulator, and gas) should be considered in designing of high voltage equipments due to the electric field enhancement. In this paper, positive lightning impulse breakdown voltage is predicted based on the streamer theory for simplified insulator models and 72.5㎸ spacer with varying the triple junction geometry and gas pressure, and the results are compared to the experimental results. The electric field coefficient concept is also applied in order to evaluate the partial discharge inception voltage and the surface flashover voltage from the streamer inception voltage. The application of this method using the constant electric field coefficient of 1.3 and 0.66 is possible for evaluating the triple-junction insulation of the simplified insulator and the 72.5㎸ spacer respectively. The error rate is under 10%.
