본 연구의 목적은 한국의 크루즈관광산업이 당면하고 있는 문제점들을 지적하고 해결방안을 제시하여 한국의 크루즈관광산업의 성장과 발전을 도모하기 위함이다. 이 과정에서 크루즈선 기항지로서 한국의 현황과 장단점, 크루즈선의 수용 및 항만시설의 내용, 크루즈이용객의 출입국 수속문제, 크루즈 연계관광프로그램 등과 관련한 문제점들을 분석하고 효과적인 해결방안을 제시하였다. 한국 크루즈관광산업의 미래전략으로는 첫째, 중장기적인 마스트플랜의 수립, 둘째, 크루즈선 전용부두의 확충, 셋째, 국내크루즈선사의 육성기반 조성, 넷째, 출입국심사 간소화제도 도입, 다섯째, 크루즈선사에 대한 홍보활동의 강화, 여섯째, 크루즈노선의 확충과 연계관광벨트 개발, 일곱째, 크루즈전문인력 교육프로그램 활성화, 여덟째, 한.중.일 연계상품 개발 등이다. 이러한 제안들이 한국 크루즈관광산업의 육성과 발전을 위한 정책에 반영되고 실천될 때 크루즈선의 수용태세가 확실히 확립되고 크루즈관광객들의 인바운드 활성화도 크게 기대할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. The purpose of this study was to promote the growth and development of South Korea"s cruise tourism industry by pointing out current issue and presenting solutions in South Korea"s cruise tourism industry. The study analyzed issues such as status, the advantages and disadvantages of cruise tourism industry to Korea, the capacity of cruise ships and port facilities, tile immigration procedures for cruise passengers, and presented effective solutions. This study propose 8 futuristic strategies for cruise tourism industry in Korea that include the establishment of mid-and long-term master plan, the expansion of cruise expert wharf, the composition of the foundation for development of domestic cruise companies, simplification of immigration. Moreover, Korea has to strengthen its promotional activities for cruise companies, tile expansion of cruise routes and development of linking tourism belt, activation of cruise specialists training program, and development of associated cruise product with China and Japan.
