Due to topographica l character that Korea has long peninsular from South to North, it has various trees, unique life style and cult ural emotion eac h and every region as wall as wooden furniture that has local character has been made. Among the Korean traditional furniture, Bandaji (Chest) has definite character acco rding to region however, there is unprepared to study about it. Therefor e, th ere are seve ral purpose and meanin g of this study. First, r m goi ng to examine sc ientifica lly wha t Kyun gsang-do Bandaji has reg io na l char ac ter thr ou gh rese ar ch and compariso n with from, materi al, metal-decoration of it(Chungmu, jinju , Namhae , Milyoung, Kimhae, Youngsan areas in Kyung sang nam-do). Second, I'm going to emboss about the value of the Bandaji ' s tradional beauty and make to help design developing that it becomes to fix for contemporary life style and function. Third, r m going to make low cost and high quali ty of Bandaji' s product through the study of divided modern production method because it has been produced by Korean tradional handicraftsmen.

반려동물 시장은 1인 가구와 노년 인구 증가로 매년 15~20%씩 빠르게 성장하고 있다. 반려동물과 함께 생활하는 인구도 1,000만 명을 넘어서며 전체 인구의 20%에 육박하고 있다. 계속되는 경기불황에도 반려동물산업이 지속적, 폭발적인 성장을 거듭하는 이유는 애완견을 소유물이 아닌 가족 일원으로 받아들이는 문화가 확산되면서 의식주 전반에 걸쳐 정신적·물질적 노력을 아끼지 않기 때문이다. 따라서, 국내외 관련산업의 규모와 성장에 맞춰 반려동물 용품의 질적, 양적 다양성과 신규시장 진출을 위해 새로운 제품군과 디자인 개발이 절실하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 반려견과 반려인이 같은 공간에서 좀 더 효율적으로 살아갈 수 있도록 적층과 조합이 가능한 반려견용 유니트 가구를 디자인 개발하였다. 공간의 크기나 사용목적에 따라 필요한 유니트를 선택할 수 있고, 쉽게 구성방법을 바꿀 수 있어 소비자의 다양한 요구변화에 대응할 수 있다. 유니트로 개발된 품목은 반려견에게 독립적 공간을 제공하는 하우스, 편안하고 안정된 자세로 식사할 수 있는 식탁, 옷과 장난감 등을 보관하는 옷장, 그 밖의 위생용품과 사료 등을 보관하는 수납장이다. 개발된 4종의 개 전용가구는 hinge, runner 등의 하드웨어를 사용하지 않고 판재형태의 모듈로 이루어진 넉다운 방식의 가구이다. 판재형태의 모듈로 구성된 각 유니트(하우스, 옷장, 수납장, 식탁)는 플랫팩(Flat Pack)1) 으로 물류비를 획기적으로 줄일 수 있다. 이처럼 포장과 보관, 이동이 편리한 넉다운 형식의 반려견 전용 가구는 B2B 시장에서 상품의 물류비용을 감소시키고, B2C 시장에서 택배서비스가 가능한 이점이 있다. 본 연구가 지속적으로 성장하는 반려동물 관련용품 시장에서 차별화되고 독창적인 펫가구 개발에 계기가 되어 반려동물과 반려인들의 삶을 보다 편리하고 풍요롭게 만들기를 기대한다. With the increase of single-person households and aged population, the pet industry is rapidly growing 15~20% annually. Those who raise their own pets are approximately ten million, marking 20% of the total population. Despite the ongoing economic regression, the pet industry's impressive growth continues because of the fact that more people are willing to accept their pets as their companions, not mere properties; and are no more hesitant to spend their money for the welfare of "men's best friend". Therefore, it is imperative that new product family and designs are developed in order to go hand in hand with the size and the growth of the related markets. Such efforts may not only improve the qualitative and quantitative diversity of pet products, but also meet the needs of firms willing to enter the overseas market. With the abovementioned conditions in mind, the following research has developed "unit" furniture designs that enable consumers to live with their pets in a more efficiently used space. Consumers just need to purchase different kind of units and assemble them accordingly. This approach allows the market to flexibly respond to individual consumer’s preferences and needs. Four kinds of unit were developed in the following research: the “House Unit”, which provides individual space for dogs, the “Table Unit”, with which pets can dine in a comfortable posture, the “Closet Unit”, where owners can put clothes and toys; and the “Cabinet Unit”, where foods or snacks can be stored. All of the four products are KD (Knocked-Down) furniture which is comprised of board-form modules. Thus, they do not require any hardware such as hinges and runners, making it easier for consumers to customize the products. Moreover, each unit (House, Closet, Cabinet, and Table) can be packaged in a Flat Pack since they consist board-form modules. This enables the KD pet furniture to curtail the logistics cost in the B2B market, and to be utilized in the B2C marketthroughhome-deliveryservice. It is our humble wish that the following research may become a cornerstone for the further development of pet furniture designs and related industries; and moreover a contribution for enhancement of the welfare of pets and their owners.

Korean mother of pearl inlay lacquer industrial arts transmitted for about 2,000 years showed a special quality with various techniques of expression according to the changes of the times. however, nowadays they are not succeeded and developed. So it is necessary to make a further study in these fields. This thesis tried to make a comparative study of modeling effect according to the various techniques of expression and showed some works. And I researched decorative effects and modeling according to the techniques of expression and sought after popularity and artistry of some different works which were invented with abstract and concrete expression.

Since old times Kitchen furniture and utensils have been polished and developed for a few hundred years and have had refined forms and excellent functions in the usage. However, owing to rapid industrial development and thoughtless introduction to western culture, our traditional crafts and culture have been hurt and have made no progress recently. Therefore, by the way of classifying 4 kinds of furniture and 58 kinds of utensils into detailed categories such as usage, timber quality, painting skill, assembling technique, and decorative technique, we try to enhance the value of Korean industrial arts. Even though academically, it is important to conserve and reclassify our ancestor's cultural legacy wood craftsman may as well develop our traditional industrial crafts into being modernized, and newly and practically designed ones.

Korea has developed distinctive styles of wood furniture, which have strong characteristics influenced by regional life style and wood-type in specific areas. Among the dinstinctive furniture styles, the Chosun small dining table has a unique formative beauty according to regional characteristic and its usage; however, nowadays research and development on it have been disconnected due to our lack of appreciation for tradition and the passive attitude of professional training centers. Therefore, in this paper, after analyzing the regional and typal characteristics of the Chosun small dining table, we will develop and show a few newly-designed small dining table. Furthermore, these tables will provide the fundamentals to develop more well-designed small dining tables.
