연구논문 : 국내 호텔기업의 경영성과 수준에 따른 경영성과 결정요인에 관한 연구: OLS 회귀분석과 Quantile 회귀분석 비교를 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 국내 호텔기업의 경영성과 결정요인을 재무요인과 비용요인으로 구분하여 OLS 회귀분석과 분위수 회귀분석의 분석결과의 차이를 제시함으로써 국내 호텔기업의 경영성과수준에 따라 경영성과 결정요인을 측정하고자 한다. 본 연구의 표본은 53개의 국내특급호텔의 3년간 자료를 pooling하여, 총 유효 샘플 159개를 최종분석에 이용하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과를 살펴보면, 호텔기업의 경영성과 수준에 따른 결정요인의 규명을 위해 실시한 분위수 회귀분석 결과는 OLS 회귀분석 결과와는 차이점을 보였다. 비용요인들은 대부분의 경영성과수준에서 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나, 재무요인은 호텔기업의 경영성과에 영향을 미치나, 그 수준에 따라 영향관계에 차이가 있음을 보여주었다. 구체적으로 살펴보면, 경영성과수준이 낮은 호텔기업의 경우에는 안정성과 활동성비율이 경영성과에 영향을 미치는 결정요인으로 나타났으며, 경영성과수준이 중간인 호텔기업의 경우에는 활동성을 제외한 모든 재무요인이 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 경영성과수준이 높은 호텔기업의 경우에는 유동성, 활동성, 성장성이 경영성과에 영향을 미치는 결정요인으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 경영성과의 결정요인으로 비용요인보다는 재무요인이 중요한 영향을 미치며, 경영성과 수준에 따라 그 결정요인이 다름을 밝혔다. The purpose of this study is to identify the determinants of hotel company’s business performance by different level of business performance using quantile regression analysis. In sum, 159 sample companies were gathered from secondary database, then collected data were statistically analyzed. The results of this study are as follows: First, the cost variables were not significantly related with hotel company’s business performance based on the quantile regression results. However, some financial variables were significantly related with hotel company’s business performance. This results implies that the financial variables were more important factors to hotel business performance than cost variables. Secondly, the determinants of hotel company’s business performance were differently related with different level of business performance. Thirdly, the quantile regression analysis provides more insights than the OLS regression into understanding hotel company’s business performance. These results would help each hotel companies could establish different business strategies to increase their business performance depending on the level of business performance.
