회전 접이식 구조를 활용한 넉다운 테이블 디자인 사례연구

본 연구는 새로운 접이식 구조를 갖는 휴대용 넉다운 테이블을 개발하기 위한 과정이다. 새로운 구조의 가능성 실험을 위해서 회전체 접이식 구조 등에 대해서 연구하고 이를 현실화할 수 있는 부재와 소재 등을 활용하고자 한다. 사용되는 주부재는 친환경 목재를 사용하고 각 유니트 간의 연결을 위해 기존방식의 금속 하드웨어가 아닌 재활용 천연가죽이나 자투리 천등을 이용하고 이것의 내구성과 상품화 가능성을 실험한다. 전체 디자인의 프로파일을 추출한 기본유닛을 반복하여 회전함으로서 시각적 입체감과 구조적 짜임새를 강조하는 디자인 특징을 나타내고자하며, 회전 접이식 구조를 통해 보관 및 운반을 위한 편리함을 추구하였다. 사용소재는 자작합판과 천연가죽, 천, 고무줄 등을 사용하여 현대 디자인에서 강조되고 있는 친환경적 이슈에도 적극적으로 접근하였다. 디자인 프로토 타입 제작 후 구조적 안정성과 사용의 편의성 등을 평가하여 향후 양산아이템을 위한 수정·보완 연구를 진행하고자한다. The current study explores the experimental process for the development of a portable knock-down table which has new type of folding system. The swivel folding structure, a totally new concept for knock-down table system, is considered as the test models for the possibility in practical uses. The diverse materials, not usually used for the structures and functions of furniture, are tested and applied for confirming the possibility of their practical use. Birch plywood is used as main part material in this project work. Instead of using usual metal hardwares, recycled leather and remnants of cloth are used for connecting the assembled parts and tested and confirmed on their durabilty and productivity. The basic unit extracted from the profile of the body shape represents three-dimensional depth and structural integrity emphasized for design character by repeated arranging with 360-degree revolution. The swivel folding structure provide the convenience for transit and storage and the materials, birch plywood, natural leather, remnants of cloth and rubber bands are close to the green issues emphasized in contemporary product design. This study evaluates how well the design prototype as a result is working for the stability of structure and convenience in usage. The next study is necessary to follow-up on this result and improve for the mass production version.
