        論文(논문) : 한국 공군 공중근무자 암 발생 조사

        Pilots are exposed to carcinogenic substances like radiation, ozone, exhaust gas from jet engine, and electromagnetic wave, their environment can be very hazardous. I designed this study to know if there is any difference between pilots and general people in cancer incidence. I analyzed cancer cases between 1999 and 2008, and investigated their age, site, aircraft types, and sex. I compared pilot`s cancer incidence with general people during same periods. Statistical analysis was performed with standardized incidence ratio (SIR). 10 cases were high performance pilots, 5 cases were low performance pilots. The average age when the diagnosis had been made was 39±7.8. Pilot`s incidence ratio was lower than people`s, the most common cancer was kidney, and there was no lung cancer. Cancer is influenced by gene and environment, each country has different patterns. The low incidence ratio in Korean pilots might be due to "healthy worker effect". I think we should perform further investigation on kidney cancer.

        論文(논문) : 대한민국 공군 조종사의 일일 활동량에 관한 연구

        Pilots` fatigue is one of the most serious threat to flying safety. Fatigue is influenced by many factors like sleep deprivation, daily activities, aging, stress, etc. This study was designed to investigate military pilots` daily activities. 20 pilots` daily activity was monitored by activity monitor, Fitbit®, and the survey about sleep time and flight time was conducted. They placed Fitbit® on their waist for 5 days. During flight, they removed Fitbit® that had been used for checking their steps and walking distances. It was found that the average sleep time is 6.7 hours for fighter pilots. It was a little shorter than average sleep time for adults, 8 hours. Average steps per day was 6,838 which is more than sedentary worker`s but less than active worker`s. Their daily activities were not as high as we had expected. But their sleep time was very short. Flight surgeons should recommend them to take a rest and get sleep during rest period.

        최근 딥러닝을 통하여 영상의 카테고리 분류를 응용한 행동 인식이 활발히 연구되고 있다. 그러나 행동 인식을 위한 기존 연구 방법은 높은 수준의 하드웨어 사양을 요구하며 행동 인식에 대한 학습에 많은 시간이 소모되는 문제점을 지니고 있다. 또한, 행동 인식 테스트 결과를 얻기 위해 많은 시간이 소모되며 딥러닝 특성상 적은 수의 학습 데이터는 overfitting 문제를 일으킨다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하고자 행동인식을 위한 학습시간과 테스트 시간 감소를 위해 미리 학습된 VGG 모델을 사용해 얻어낸 RGB 데이터의 특징만을 학습에 사용하고 적은 수의 데이터로 행동 인식 테스트 결과를 높이기 위하여 RGB 데이터 증대를 통해 기존의 행동인식 연구보다 학습시간과 행동인식 테스트에 소모되는 시간을 줄인 방법을 행동 인식에 적용하였다. 이 방법을 UCF50 Dataset 에 적용하여 98.13%의 행동인식에 관한 정확성을 확인하였다

        두부 손상 보호를 위한 승객용 헬멧 개발 연구

        Introduction : Head trauma is the main cause of death in aircraft crash. In a Michigan study of structurally survivable, fatal accidents, 80% of the fatally injured had received head trauma. We tried to develop a new helmet for passengers, and perform its efficiency test. Methods : An aircraft helmet requires an excellent protection against head trauma, lightness, and small volumes. In addition, it must be wearable, fire resistant, and non toxic when it is burning. We developed two new helmets made from silicone foam which met all theses requirements. One was thin (2.5cm), and the other was thick (6.3cm). These looked like a motorcycle helmet and had only a soft silicone as liner material without an outer hard shell. Therefore we can carry them easily inside aircrafts. The standard test for helmet is Snell`s drop test. It measures the impact acceleration of head shaped metal wearing helmet during we drop it at certain heights. Impact sites were total 5 sites (front, back, right, left and top) for each helmet. All these sites were impacted twice. Results : The thickness of impact sites varied from 2.5cm to 6.3cm. The impact acceleration of 2.5cm thickness site when it was dropped from 1.0 meter was 379g. But, that of 6.3cm thickness site when it was dropped from 1.5 meter was only 163g. Unfortunately, both helmets didn`t meet the Snell Standard for motorcycle helmets. Discussion : If we add suitable outer hard shell, and change its thickness and design, the efficiency will be increased. A study indicated that helmet could reduce the risk of head trauma up to 85%. We made helmet for passengers in aircraft crash for the first time. If we improve its weak points, it will decrease the frequency of head trauma in aircraft craft.

      • 조종사 임무 수행에서의 모다피닐의 효과

        Object: Fatigue is well established in causing significant decrements in performance and aviation safety. The modafinil is one of the fatigue modulating drugs in the military field. The objective of this study was to evaluate side effects of modafinil in grounding tests and to efficacy of modafinil for sustaining alertness in ROKAF pilots. Method: In grounding tests, the 44 pilots were participated and took one modafinil(200 mg) in 8 am and 4 pm each time, and monitored vital signs and side effects for 3 days. In simulator study, the 20 pilots were participated in double blinded randomized control study. We checked subjective self-reporting scale, korean profile of mood status, flying maneuvers, and stress hormones. We analysed paired t test and repeated measured ANOVA tests. Results: After medication of modafinil, participants were increased blood pressure, heart rate and temperature in the first day and recovered in the second day except systolic pressure. The percentage of side effects is 27.3% and disappeared in the second day. In simulator study, modafinil did not affect in subjective and objective scales. Conclusion: For using modafinil in military pilots, we need to evaluate grounding test for screening sensitive pilots, and modafinil was effective in the management of alert enhancing
