        보중익기탕과 육미지황탕이 노화촉진생쥐(SAM)의 간장내 항산화작용에 미치는 영향

        N/A Objective: The free radical is a well-known and recent theory of aging. In this theory the oxygen radicals injury and lipid peroxidation are msjor causes of the disease and aging process. Bojungikgi-tang and Yukmijiwhg-k7ng, the prescriptions of oriental medicine, consist of some medicinal herbs. These are generally used for the treatment of aging-related diseases in old man. The effects of Bojungikgktung and Yukmuiwhg-tang were supposed to posses antioxidative activity Method: Bojungikgi-tmg and Yukmjiiwhang-tang in aging, FAP, CD and the activities of antioxidant enzymes in liver were measured on SAM P-1 and R-1 in 4, 12, 24 and 40 weeks of age. Result: BojungikghWag and Yukmuiwhrurg-tang did not change FAP intensity but reduced CD intensity in 40 weeks of age, and increased significantly the activities of glutathione pwoxidase, glutathione reductase, glutathione S-transferase, catalase and superoxide dismutase of SAM P-1 in old weeks of age. Conclustions: Bojungikgi-i-tang and Yukmuiwha,ng-tang play a significant role in the antioxidative reaction and protecting of lipid peroxidation associated with aging.

        인진의 생식 독성에 대한 연구 -수태능 및 초기 배발생을 중심으로-

        N/A Objective : The objective of this study was to access the safety of Artemisia iwaymogi Kitamura extracts that have been used as oriental medicine to the liver disease on the fertility and early embryonic development of male and female Wistar rats when administered by oral gavage with their potential hepatotoxicity. Method : Males were administerd 4 weeks before pairing and 2 weeks after mating including the mating periods up to termination after necropsy of the majority of the females. Females were dosed 2 weeks before pairing, and from Day 0 to Day 7 of gestation. It was conducted in accordance with the recommendations of the KFDA Guideline for Detection of Toxicity to Reproduction for Medicinal Products. Result : No Artemisia iwoyomogi Kitanura extracts treatment-related changes of clinical signs, mortalities, estrous cycle, pre-coital intervals, mating index, conception rate, fertility index, gross findings, histopathological observation, corpora lutea number, implantation site number, live fetus number, number of resorption embryo and gre- and post-implantation loss were demonstrated in all dosed levels in this study. Although the body weight gains, food consumption and absolute organ weights of epididymis, prostate, seminal vesicle, testis, ovary and liver were significantly increased in Mxxlmg/kg -dosing groups, and the relative organ weights were not changed. So it was concluded that this increase was natural according to the growth. And no changes of serum AST, ALT, LDH and ALP levels were demonstrated in all dosed levels in this study. Condustions : it is considered that the NOAEL(No Observed Adverse Effect Level) for fertility and early embryonic development toxicity of Artemisia iwaymogi Kitamura extracts was up to 2000㎎/kg/day because there no changes of other fertility and early embryonic developmental index were demonstrated.

        형방지황탕이 사염화탄소 장기 투여로 유발된 백서 간경변의 예방에 미치는 영향

        N/A Objective : In order to determine the prevention effects of oral administration with HyeungBungJiHumflangW3JHT) on the liver cirrhosis of rats induced by long time carbon tetrachloride injection, the changes of body weight and gains, absolute and relative liver weight, biochemistry of blood, histopathological changes, urine specific gravity and urine bilirubin levels were monitored after 10 weeks of concomitantly dosing of HBJHT extract(per os) and CCl₄(i.p). Method : The WBJHT extracts were daily dosed at 50(T1), l00(T2) and 200(T3)ms/kg for 10 weeks. Result : The body weight and gains were significantly and dose dependently increased in HBJHT treated group compared to that of CCl₄treated control group. The absolute and relative liver weight were significantly and dose dependently reduced in HBJHT treated group compared to that of CCl₄treated control group. Severe hepatocellular necrosis and ballooning, hyperplasia of connective tissue and subdue reduction of hepatic lobule, hyperplasia of bile duct in portal triad were dramatically decreased in HBJHT treated group compared to that of CCl₄treated control group in histopathological observation.The diameter of hepatic lobules was significantly enlarged, and in HBJHT treated group compared to that of cc14 treated control group, and the numbers of connective tissue, degenerative cell and bile duct were significantly and dose dependently decreased. The levels of serum AST, ALT, LDH, ALP, GGT and total bilirubin were SignificantJy and dose dependently reduced in HBJHT treated group compared to that of CCl₄treated control group. The urine specific gravities were significantly and dose dependently increased, and the urine bilirubin levels were decreased in HBJHT treated group compared to that of CCl₄treated control group. Conclustions : it is considered that HBJWT extracts have some favorable effect to prevent the induce of hepatic cirrhosis by CCl₄injection.
