National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) enhanced the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) rating program. The previous rating program was based on the combined chance of serious injury to the head and chest. Now, the new program includes all of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 208 body regions like head, neck, chest, and femur. The new program also uses a different crash test dummy (Hybrid III 5th%ile female dummy) in the frontal passenger side. In this paper, a comparative study on the femur load was accomplished to meet reliability and effectiveness.

건설 프로젝트의 정보를 프로젝트 참여자들이 공유하고 활용하는 것은 건설 프로젝트의 성공적인 수행 을 위한 중요한 요소로 작용한다. 최근 프로젝트 참여자들의 효과적인 정보의 공유 및 활용을 위한 도구로써 BIM에 관심이 집중되고 있다. BIM은 건설 프로젝트의 초기 계획 설계에서 유지관리 단계까지 프로젝트 참여자들이 필요로 하는 정보를 제공함으로써 프로젝트의 전체 생애주기 동안 활용 가능하다. 그러나 잦은 설계변경, 기존 도면의 분실 등으로 인하여 수행 중이거나 완공된 건설 프로젝트의 정확한 정보를 포함한 BIM의 획득이 어려워 시공 및 운영 단계에서 BIM 활용이 이루어지지 못하는 실정이다. 따라서 해외에서는 BIM 활용의 한계를 극복하고 건설프로젝트 전반에서 BIM을 활용하기 위하여 수행 중이거나 완공된 건설 프로젝트의 현장정보를 포함하는 BIM 구축을 위한 연구가 활발하게 진행되나 국내에서는 관련 연구가 매우 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 건설 프로젝트의 시공 및 유지관리 단계에서 활용이 가능한 첨단센서 기반의 BIM 구축에 대한 필요성 제시에 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 먼저 국내 BIM 활용에 대한 문헌 연구를 통해 국내 BIM 활용의 문제점을 도출하였다. 문제점을 해결하기 위한 방법으로 첨단센서 기반의 BIM 구축을 제안하였으며, 관련 연구 고찰을 통해 향후 연구 방향을 제시하였다. In recent years, building information modeling (BIM) has been an important issue within the architect, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. BIM provides a way to share and exchange semantically rich information about the buildings in order to achieve a successful level of collaboration, communication, and interaction between stakeholders throughout the life cycle of the project. However, despite the recognition of its potential, BIM has not yet been utilized in the construction, operation, and maintenance stages because of the need to reorganize the BIM by reflecting the as-built status of the buildings. In order to improve and increase the use of BIM at all phases of a project, several research efforts are exploring the creation of an as-built BIM that is based on advanced sensors. However, there is a lack of literature and investigation on this research area to date within the domestic AEC industry. The aim of this study is to suggest ways in which BIM can be utilized within the construction, operation, and maintenance stages based on advanced sensors so that it is an approach that might be usefully carried forward. This paper begins by presenting a review of the existing BIM research and achievement in order to determine the limitations of the use of BIM in the domestic AEC industry. Conclusively, this paper suggests a direction for the future applications of BIM and describes how it can benefit from additional research.

The extinguishing experiment was performed using the alkali as an additive to improve the performance of the low ressure water mist fire extinguishing system. KHCO3 and NaHCO3 were used as alkali metallic salts, and extinguishing time and amount of water ejected were measured for class A fire. In case of using additives, the fire extinguishing time was shorter than that of pure water at a given discharge pressure and the amount of water ejected was also reduced. It was because of the momentum increase of a water droplet containing additives and the chemical extinguishing effect. By using alkali metal agent, the extinguishing time and improvement of the consumption of water can be reduced.

In the case of inverter power modules for existing eco-friendly vehicles, assembly using bolt fastening was generally used. However, for reasons such as weight reduction, securing assembly space, and reducing CT, the use of laser welding is increasing. In the case of bolts, it was possible to check whether the part was fastened by checking the assembly torque. However, in the case of joining through laser welding, it is possible to check whether the part is joined through non-destructive testing. There are methods such as PT (Penetration Test: Penetrant Test), MT (Magnetic Test: Magnetic Particle Test), RT (Radioisotope Test: Radiation Test), and UT (UltrasonicTest: Ultrasonic Test). In this study, we propose a method to secure welding quality through visual inspection through CT (Computed Tomography) and scanning.
