차량개발 초기단계에서의 보행자 Lower Leg 보호 방안 Case Study

To reduce deaths and injuries that occur in accidents involving pedestrians, all new types of motor vehicle for European market from 1 October 2005 have to fulfill the legal requirement which limit the values of lower legform injury and child head form injury. To satisfy the proposed pedestrian requirements, the design for pedestrian protection scheme should be considered from the early stage of vehicle development. However, it is not easy to build full vehicle finite element model in early stage of vehicle development, especially in styling phase, because the geometry data for finite element model are not sufficient in this stage. The project has been undertaken to propose the design guidelines on the front structures of the vehicle. The process was carried out in conjunction with MADYMO Multi-body modeling and Design of Experiments (DOE) study.

Cars should be met a lot of safety regulation. This paper shows that Pedestrian lower legform to bumper test in those. In this test, tibia acceleration, knee bending angle and knee shear displacement values of the legform are estimated to decide the safety of a car. It initially compared the numerical result using MADYMO and the test result. By case study that was changed initial conditions which may be effective, it analyzes the variation of legform result.

The FMVSS 201 regulation requires that the interior components in upper compartment of a passenger vehicle must satisfy Free Motion Headfoam (FMH) impact test with Head Injury Criterion (HIC) limit. Head Injury Criterion is influenced by many variables such as test velocity, FMH calibration performance, plan view angle, rotation angle and first contact position. In this paper, analytical research is carried out to find the effect of forehead impact zone and vertical approach angle in FMH Impact.
