When did the Christian religion come to the Orient? In China's case, it was 1400 years ago that the Nestorianism was introduced to ChangAn(長安) in Tang dynasty(635). But Nestorianism's missionary works were hardly understood until the stone monument of Nestorianism was found A tenet(法流十道) was spread out all over the country, for example monasteries were located on every city and followers were uncountable. This religion did social works with the astronomy and other sciences so it got effective results on the mission It was propagated and took a missionary action to Silla and Coryo as well. (Korea's dynasty) Nestorianism was newly reborn with mixing Buddhism and Taoism. Omnipresent but invisible God represented Sumi mountain (須彌山), that is to say 'the truth(眞)' is to 'Heaven'. Silla's Chumsungdae, warehouse and tower are a figure of the Chinese character 'the truth 眞' and a file of stones in front of a tutelary deity means to make Sumi mountain. That is a form of folk religion. In 1583(Ming dynasty), Roman Catholicism came to China through Zhaoqing(肇慶). Matteo Ricci was taking out of a his black robe and wearing a grey Buddhist monk's robe. He had his hair cut just like a monk and tried to expand Roman Catholicism. But it was inevitable to have a discord with Taoism and Buddhism. To reconcile with Gatholicism, he was changing his Buddhist cloth to Confucian's wearing and bearding. Also he translated the Four Books(Confucian's sacred the Four books 四書) into Latin and studied the general ideas of the God(上帝) and Heaven(天)in the Chinese classics. The concept of sacred God and Heaven before Zhou(周) dynasty had been changed to the natural things after the Confucius and finally it was only a blue sky with no will after Xunzi(荀子). But Metteo Ricci argued that the God before Zhou(周) dynasty identified the God of Catholicism(天主 it means the Lord of the heaven). Even if this assertion intended to disputation with Confucian scholars, his belief was so strong that this claim had been an authority of his mission. The time difference which Nestorianism and Roman Catholicism were introduced to China is almost 1000-year but each religion's missionary ways were same. Starting social works with the science, this approach was successfully distributed to expand power of each religion. Nestorianism's the Truth(眞) and Roman Catholicism's the God(天主) were recreated as the omnipotent Lord of the East exchanging with the Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism
