The experiment was conducted to determine the change of meteorological ecotypes based on the photoperiod sensitive phase(PSP) and the basic vegetative phase(BVP) of rice varieties at different daylengths ranging from 10 to 16 hours with every two hours. Four groups of rice varieties were made on the basis of time of introduced and home bred: Native japonica(GⅠ), Japanese varieties introduced and improved between 1911 and 1940(GⅡ), Japanese varieties introduced and improved between 1941 and 1970(GⅢ), and Japanese varieties and Tongil semi-dwarf varieties released after 1970(GⅣ). Heading date of the four groups was delayed with increasing the daylength. With the time of introduction and home bred, the heading date tended to be delayed under short-day, but hastened under long-day. BVP of japonica varieties in the four groups decreased by degree by degree Ⅱ. The highest PSP was found in GⅠ, but the PSP decreased with time of introduction and home bred. Tongil varieties in GⅣ showed higher BVP and less sensitive in PSP than japonica varieties. In GⅡ and GⅢ PSP of home bred variety was significantly greater than that of introduced varieties, while there was no significant difference in BVP between them.
