Building and furnishing materials and consumer products are important sources of volatile organic compounds(VOCs) and other aldehydes in the indoor environment. Some available evidence indicates that VOCs can causeadverse health effects to the building occupants and contribute to some of the symptoms of what we call, ‘SickHouse Syndrome’ in Korea. The aims of this study were to evaluate the efficiency of emission system and toinvestigate comparison of the emission characteristics of different building materials such as wall-papers, paints,temperature, relative humidity, and ventilation rate in this study. VOCs were sampled for 20 minutes using Tenax-TA tubes and analysed by GC-MS with thermal desorption. The stability of conditions for temperature andrelative humidity in this small chamber system showed that the uctuation of temperature was between 25.4± 0.3Cand that of relative humidity was 50.2± building materials resulted in TVOC emission rates of 0.011~ 3.108mg/m2h after 7 days. The general wall-papersemitted toluene abundantly and the natural wall-papers mainly emitted n-butanol and a minor amount of alkanescompound such as n-tetradecane. The remainder consisted of toluene, m,p-emitted toluene and the adhesives mainly emitted chloroform as well as toluene. As a result, this study is expectedto suggest meaningful data for future studies in exposure control through selecting healthy building materials andfor the establishment of guidelines for various building materials in Korea.
The inter-organizational business process is one of the hot issues in B2B e-commerce. In this paper, through the survey of the inter-organizational business process integration and the analysis of B2Bi related standards, e.g., BPML, WSDL, WSCI, and BPSS, we propose a method of linking BPML and BPSS specifications that can be used to integrate private processes with the public processes among enterprises. We also suggest an application example of the method by redefining a PIP of RosettaNet to the BPSS specification. The basic principle of the method is to maintain the independency of the existing BPML and BPSS applications and to construct an intermediary transformation module between the two applications.
