이 글은 18세기 여러 문헌에 수록된 강상효녀담을 중심으로 작가의 창작의식이 어떻게 드러나 있으며, 소설에 수용되면서 어떤 의미를 지니고 있는가를 밝히는 것에 목적을 두었다. 강상효녀담은 아버지의 원수를 갚는 복수 이야기가 중심을 이루지만 구체적인 개별 작품에서는 그 의미가 확장되거나 심화되고 있다. 임매의 <여협>은 여자 협객이라는 인물 형상을 구체적이고도 생동감 있게 드러내었으며, 여자의 복수 행위가 당연하였다는 입장을 심도 있게 논의한 작품이라 할 수 있다. 심낙수의 <서이여아복수사>와 이동윤의 <마포>는 강상효녀 사건에만 국한시키지 않고 관련되는 인물의 평가에까지 확대되고 있다. <서이여아복수사>는 개인의 복수 차원을 넘어서 국가 차원에서 복수를 의도한 것으로 파악할 수 있고, <마포>에는 정유악 부자의 비판과 이천기의 옹호를 통해 의리 문제가 다루어져 있다. <검녀>는 복수 이야기에서 출발하여 택인과 선비의 처신 문제로까지 서사의 폭을 확대하였는데, 홍유기사라면 의리에 따른 실천과 올바른 안목으로 진정한 사람을 선택해야 함을 부각시킨 작품이라 할 것이다. 단편의 야담이라 할 수 있는 강상효녀담은 19세기 장편소설인 <옥수기>에 수용되어 있다. <옥수기>에 축조된 임소저 관련 서사는 강상효녀담과 관련이 있을 뿐 아니라 서사 분량도 웬만한 단편소설의 분량을 능가한다. 임소저의 복수담이 <옥수기>에서는 일부분에 불과하지만 강상효녀담과 관련지을 경우 장편의 양상으로까지 발전할 수 있음을 알 수 있다. 소설에서 복수 서사가 가지는 의미는 복수를 통한 효의 실천과 정의의 구현, 복수담과 결연담의 교직으로 구성의 다양함과 소설적 흥미 고취, 인물간의 대립과 다양한 갈등 국면의 조성, 당대 사회상의 충실한 반영 등으로 요약할 수 있다. This thesis is to aim at examining the writer`s creative thinking and receptive capacity of Gang Sang filial daughter`s story. The basis of Gang Sang filial daughter`s story is made up of revenge, but some works have more expanded meanings. The writer, Lim Mae described the heroine character very vividly in the story of <YeoHup>, and indicated the rightfulness of vengeance seriously. In addition, In <Seoyeeyeoya revenge story> written by ShimNakSue and <MaPo> by LeeDongYoon, each writer expanded the discussing topic from revenge to character appraisal. In <Seoyeeyeoya revenge story>, it dealt with the criticism of the emperor Goo Gong and his revenge wasn`t intended to be for his individual but for the country. In <MaPo> story, it showed LeeDongYoon`s partisanship, the criticism toward JeongYooAk and his son and loyalty by supporting LeeChounGee. <Sword Girl> started from the vengeance story but emphasized the importance about how to choose people and the intelligent`s good behavior. Gang Sang filial daughter`s story is classified into a long novel. The heroine story is connected with GangSang filial daughter`s story and the story`s amount is very long. The vengeance story is expanded to love story. There are many conflicts and confrontations between characters in a various way. Also, it reflects a social aspect very well. Therefore, the story whose material is revenge is known to reveal current society.
