In this paper, the research trend and the sate-of-the-art of low cost motor drives are introduced with the recently increasing interest m various industrial applications, such as home appliance, hybrid electric vehicles, wind power systems, fuel cell systems, and etc. Based on This presented work, it is highly expected the power electronics technologies, which are accumulated through the last 20 years, can be effectively applied to actual application fields.

In recent, Fuel Fells are regarded as a good alternative renewable energy source, which can solve the pacing problems, such as exhausting fossil energy and severe environmental pollution. It needs both a dc-dc boost converter and dc-ac inverter to be used in domestic power. Therefore, this paper presents dc-dc ZVS half bridge converter for fuel cell generation system. The proposed Fuel Cell generation system consist of ZVS half-bridge converter to boost the Fuel Cell(PEMFC) voltage(22~50[Vdc]) to 380[Vdc]. A single phase full-bridge inverter is implemented to produce 220[Vac], 60[㎐] AC outputs.

In this paper, a new current control algorithm is proposed for four-switch three-phase brushless DC (BLOC) motor drives, which are suitable for low cost applications A current reference generation scheme is developed and Implemented to obtain high performance characteristics in the four-switch system, such as small torque ripple and fast dynamic speed/torque response Moreover, the proposed scheme can successfully eliminate the torque ripple during commutations, so that It can be expected that the four-switch system can be much more practically applied for the industrial application areas

The emerging applications such as reliable back-up power system and renewable energy call for high boost DC-DC converter. The conventional topologies to get high output voltage are using flyback circuit, cascade converters, and coupled inductor DC-DC converter. They have the stress and loss related to the leakage energy which results in low efficiency. In this paper, novel high boost converter is presented. It has a structure of cascade boost converter but only one switch. Therefore, drive circuit is simple and extreme duty ratio is eliminated. To verify the proposed circuit, theoretical analysis and experimental results has been done using a prototype power supply.
