논문 : 우리나라기업의 윤리경영이 기업가치 및 재무적성과에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 우리나라기업의 윤리경영과 기업가치, 윤리경영과 재무적성과의 관계를 규명하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 경제정의연구소의 최근 2개년(2010, 2011) 경제정의지수(KEJI Index) 와 한국기업지배구조원의 ESG평가 기업들을 대상으로 회귀분석과 T검정을 실시하였다. 분석결과 윤리경영은 기업가치 및 재무적성과에 모두 유의적인 정(+)의 상관관계를 나타내었다. 또한 이 변수들의 선·후 관계를 분석한 결과 기업가치는 윤리경영의 수행정도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치며(여유자금이론), 동시에 윤리경영수행정도가 해당기업의 재무적성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나(선의경영이론) 윤리경영이 기업가치와 재무적성과에 상호간 긍정적 영향을 주고받는 선순환관계인 것으로 확인되었다. The purpose of this study is to investigate relationship between ethical management and firm value and financial performances. Major findings by empirical study are summarized as follows. First, Ethical management is positive related to firm value. Market investors especially consider that environmental management is very important factor to evaluate firm value. Second, Ethical management is also positive related to financial performances. But this relation is less strong than that to firm value. Third, Referred to causes and effects between ethical management and firm value and financial performances, we found that ethical management and firm value are mutually positive affected each others. That are also between ethical management and financial performances.

본 연구는 근래 가족기업 및 오너경영의 기업성과가 우수하다는 주장이 제기되는 상황에서 우리나라 기업의 보편적 지배형태라 할 수 있는 가족기업의 경영성과를 비가족기업과 비교하였다. 2004-2006년 중 한국증권선물거래소 상장 335개 업체를 대상으로 경영성과(총자본영업이익률, 자기자본순이익률, 부가가치융, M/B비율)를 비교 분석한 결과 가족기업이 비가족기업보다 경영성과가 우수하다는 일부 주장과는 달리 가족기업과 비가족기업(전문경영기업, 기업집단계열기업)간 뚜렷한 경영성과의 차이를 발견할 수 없었다. 가족기업의 경영형태를 창업자경영과 후손경영, 가족공동경영과 소유주단독경영으로 구분하여 경영성과를 비교 분석한 결과에서도 부분적인 성과의 차이는 존재하였으나 전반적으로 뚜렷한 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 여타의 분석내용으로는 설립경과연수는 부가가치율과 양(+)의 상관관계를, 총자본영업이익률, 자기자본순이익률, M/B비율과는 음(-)의 상관관계를 나타내었고, 부채비율은 M/B 비율과 양(+)의 상관관계를, 총자본영업이익률, 자기자본 순이익률, 부가가치율과 음(-)의 상관관계를 나타내었다. The purposes of this study are to compare the management performances between family firms and non-family firms those are classified into expert manager's firms and business group affiliated firms, in Korea. After classifying family firms into the firms managed by founders(founder's firm) and the firms managed by founder's descendants (descendant's firm), the firms co-managed by owner's family members(co-rmanaging firm) and the firms solo-managed by the owner(solo-rnanaging firm), this study also attempt to investigate some differences in management performances between these management types. 335 sample companies listed in Korea Stock and Futures Market during the period of 2004~2006 were collected and financial ratios such as operating income to total assets, net income to equity, gross value added to sales, market to book value ratio(M/B ratio) were measured as management performances. Empirical results are as follows First, contrary to previous expectation, there are no remarkable differences between family firms and non-family firms in management performances. Second, there are also no remarkable differences between founder's firm and descendant's firm, between co-managing firm and solo-managing firm. Third, management performances of large firms, above 300 employees, are better than those of small firms, below 299 employees. Forth, firm age is positive relation with gross value added to sales and negative relation with operating income to total assets, net income to equity, M/B ratios. Fifth, debt ratio is positive relation with M!B ratio and negative relation with perating income to total assets, net income to equity, gross value added to sales.
