Bearing that support rotating machinery in field of high speed turbo machinery is very dominant part because it determine the performance and commission of system. But existent rolling element bearing can not raise high speed (2,000,000 Dn) and have a short lifetime at high load. Once replace the existent bearings to the AMB(active magnetic bearing), that can raise heavy load capacity as well as high speed ability (4,000,000 Dn). Also can realize more stable performance in high speed area because it actively control the damping and stiffness of bearing. Therefore in this paper, achieve the research about AMB to apply high speed turbo machinery. Accordingly, achieved the modal analysis of AMB-rigid rotor system using FEM. Thereafter derive the 4DOF model of high speed AMB system and design the controller. Finally, constructing the monitoring system and experiment device in order to estimate the performance of AMB system by LQR integral controller.
