Although the Ti-Al alloys have been attracted as structural materials due to relatively high strength and superior oxidation resistance, the fabrication of the Ti-Al alloys in industry has many problems due to the deficiency of toughness at room temperature. The MA-SPS (Mechanical Alloying-Spark Sintering) in this study is used for the fabrication of TiAl intermetallic compound because it prevents the contamination of crucible and grain coursing due to short reaction time by high-Plasma energy. Also the TiB_2 and Si_3N_4 is added to improve the mechanical properties of Ti-Al alloys. The experimental results can be summarized as follows : The addition of TiB_2 and Si_3N_4 to Ti-Al intermetallic compounds manufactured by the MA-SPS lead to an increase of an oxidation resistance and hardness, while the bend strength decrease.
