Rice blast, which is caused by the fungus Magnaporthe grisea, is one of the most destructive diseases of rice. To identify new genes involving in rice blast resistance, we employed a novel and accurate Gene Fishing System. We identified 9 differentially expressed genes (DEG) genes from a durable resistance variety Moroberekan in response to invading rice blast. To examine expression of the identified DEG genes, RT-PCR and RNA gel-blot experiments were carried out. Gene expression analysis reveled that 6 DEG genes (DEG5, DEG6, DEG13, DEGl4, DEG15, DEG16) were up-regulated and 3 genes (DEG2, DEG9, DEG 10) were down-regulated in the plants infected by the fungal pathogen M grisea PO6-6.
