윌리엄 블레이크의 『천국과 지옥의 결혼』과윤리적 상상력

『천국과 지옥의 결혼』에서 윌리엄 블레이크는 관념주의와 이성에 묶여 변질된 기독교적 이분법을 비판하고 이분법의 한계를 뚫고나갈 돌파구로 상상력 회복을 제안한다. 이분법에 대한 그의 최종적인 해결책은 윤리적 상상력을 통해 타자의 얼굴에서 무한자를 인식하고 차이와 개별성을 존중하는 관계를 형성하여 상반된 가치들이 공존하는 역동적 관계를 형성하는 것이다. 이는 엠마누엘 레비나스의 타자의 윤리학에서 추구하는 바와 동일하다. 타자의 윤리학에서 자아는 타자의 얼굴을 마주하여 도움을 요청하는 그 얼굴에 반응하고 살인하지 말라는 명령에 복종하면서 타자를 환대하는 주체가 된다. 블레이크와 레비나스는 관념주의와 이성에 근거하고 동일자와 전체성을 지향하는 이분법을 해결하는 대안으로 자아에 앞서 타자에게 우선권을 부여함으로써 자아와 타자 모두평등한 권리를 누리도록 하는 새로운 관계 패러다임을 제시한다. In The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, William Blake criticizes Christian dualism pursuing the Same and Totality and suggests imagination should be recovered to make a breakthrough from the dead end of dualism. Ethical imagination through which you can notice the Infinite and respect differences and individuality in the face of the other makes it possible to establish dynamic relations of contrary values, the self and the other. Coexistence of the self and the other is the same as pursued in Emmanuel Levinas`s ethics, the ethics of the Other. In Levinas`s ethics, the self becomes the subject of hospitality by responding to the other`s face`s request for help and obeying its order not to kill. Blake and Levinas appear to have found a solution to the problem of dualism and the Same and Totality in a new paradigm of relations in which priority is given to the other rather than the self, making it possible for both of them to enjoy equal rights.

The purpose of this paper is to show that Emmanuel Levinas`s Ethics of the Other helps explain Blake`s ethical attitude in Songs of Innocence and Experience. As a poet with social and political vision, Blake dreams of an ideal society where every person enjoys equality and freedom. To achieve this ideal society, his poetic imagination needs to be guided by ethics. In his poems, Blake shows a strong but covert support for the Ethics of the Other. Levinas`s Ethics of the Other suggests the subject should recognize the Other`s otherness and infinity and obey his facial demand to show hospitality and not to kill. When the subject responds to the Other`s face and places himself lower than the Other, an ethical relationship is established and the true equality and freedom of a society can be achieved. In Songs of Innocence and of Experience, Blake shows the possibility of this ethical relationship in the form of dialogue which makes it possible to make a true communication. Through monologue and rhetoric, he also shows the danger that the subject appropriates and categorizes the Other. In this case, the subject regards the Other as a means of reinforcing his own ego. The pattern and function of dialogue, monologue and rhetoric in Blake`s poems appear to be corresponding to those defined by Levinas. This paper is triggered by "your chimneys," the speaker`s calling to the readers, in "The Chimney Sweeper" from Innocence. When responding to this calling, the reader establishes an ethical relationship by meeting with the chimney sweeper face to face and taking responsibility for the chimney sweeper. This ethical relationship can lead the reader to mobilize energy and ability to act for an ideal society where freedom and equality are enjoyed by everyone.

This study attempts to analyze the poetry of Sylvia Plath through the theory of melancholy and sublimation Kristeva speaks in The Black Sun. Melancholy and sadness caused by the loss of the Chose(the Thing) should be expressed to prevent them from overpowering you. This expression is performed through sublimation, which expresses the semiotic affect through the formal change of the symbolic. Kristeva’s theory provides a good framework for understanding the extreme darkness, death, and the intense poetic energy in Plath’s poetry as the cycle of melancholy and sublimation. This study examines how the sadness of melancholy is shown and how the strange beauty is created in the process of the poetic sublimation in Plath’s poetry. By re-illuminating suicide as a victory and liberation imagining the great joy of reunion with the Chose, this study corrects the prevalent limited view of Plath’s poetry, which considered suicide in her poetry as a defeat of the desires of the other in a male-dominated society.

들뢰즈로 읽는 실비아 플라스 시

Many different critics have analyzed Plath’s poems as a struggle of woman against man-centered patriarchal system, limiting her poetry within the segment of male/female hierarchical dualism regardless of success or failure of the struggle. This paper purposes to read Plath’s poems according to three lines (the molar line,the molecular line, the line of flight) with which Deleuze comprehends and analyzes patterns of life. The molar line makes rigid segments, which involve states, institution, classes, society, fixed relationship and etc. The molecular line creates cracks and oscillation in the rigid segments (or rigid territory), making them unstable. The line of flight explodes these two lines and makes a totally new creative movement. In Plath’s poems, patriarchal system proves to be rigid segments and anxiety about or rejection to anything rigid and fixed, cracks and oscillation. Suicide proves to be the line of flight, rejecting to be captured in hierarchical dualism of male/female of patriarchy. In terms of these three lines, Plath’s poems have broken through and gotten out of the black holes of the rigid segment by suicide, achieving an absolute deterritorialization. With suicide as the line of flight, Plath’s poetry has been given a new dimension of meaning which goes beyond patriarchal dualism. (Mokwon University)

The purpose of this study is to examine the depression resulting from the elderlys daily living activities of the elderly, and to tested whether there was a mediating effects of attitudes towards ageing between daily living activities and depression. Also, this study aims to find whether there was a mediating effects of specific subcategories of a attitudes towards ageing. The data was collected from the patients at eight hospitals in Cheonan, Cheongju, Daejeon From the 100 questionnaires which were received, 91 were analyzed. The tools for this study were the record of daily living the activities (ADL, IADL), attitudes towards ageing (AAQ) and the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS). The statistical analysis program(SPSS) was used for analyzing using liner regression analysis collected data from the research in frequency of depression, To examine the mediating effects between daily living activities and depression. Baron and Kennys(1986) model The summary of the results are as follows: Firstly, a restriction of daily living activities significantly affected depression. Second, attitudes towards ageing significantly affected depression. All subcategories(psychosocial loss, physical change, psychological growth) of the attitudes towards ageing also showed an effect on depression. Third, the attitudes towards ageing were found to be a significant mediator of the relationships between the restriction of daily living activities and depression. Therefore, the restriction of daily living activities had a direct effect on depression as well as an indirect effect mediated through attitudes towards ageing. Also, the effect of the restriction of daily living activities on depression was mediated through psychosocial loss, physical change, psychological growth. Therefore, the restriction of daily living activities had a direct effect on depression as well as an indirect effect through psychosocial loss, physical change, psychological growth. The studys significances, based on the results which are mentioned above, are to identify the connection how the restriction of daily living activities turns into depression and to improve the recognition that the attitudes towards ageing is of significance to those elderly who suffer depression, and that their situation can be improved by finding mediating effects on the attitudes towards ageing which influence on the above connection. In addition, this study is meaningful because it provides foundational data to set up more efficient devices for counsel.

장애아동이 가족에게 미치는 긍정적 영향과 보호요인에 관한 문헌고찰: 국내 연구를 중심으로

본 연구는 국내 학술지를 중심으로 장애아동이 가족에게 미치는 긍정적 영향과 보호요인에 관한 문헌을 고찰 한 것으로, 장애가 가족에게 미치는 긍정적인 영향을 설명해 주는 변수들을 생태 체계별로 검토해 보고, 긍정적 영향을 조절하고 완충해 주는 보호요인으로써 가족탄력성에 대해 중점적으로 탐색해 보았다. 이 연구는 문헌고찰 한 결과를 바탕으로, 임상적 실천과 프로그램 및 정책 개발 시에 참고할 수 있는 기초자료를 제공했다는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 기존의 문제 중심적인 시각에서 벗어나 강점 관점으로 장애아동 가족을 조망해 보고자 했다는 점에서도 그 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다. The study examined the positive effects of the disabled children on the family referring to diverse academic journals. It analyzed the variables that explain the positive effects of the disabled children on the family by social-ecological system, and evaluated family resilience as a protective factor that mediates and buffers positive impacts. The study, based on diverse researches and journals is meaningful as it is offering baseline data that can be referred when practicing clinical trials and developing programs and policies. It also shifted one`s perspective from looking at disability only as a problem to viewing the whole family with the disabled children with positive viewpoint.
