Weinvestigatedthedistributionofhazardousheavymetals(As,Cr<sup>6+</sup>,Ni,Cd,Pb,andMn)andestimatedthehealthriskrelatedtotheheavymetalsinfinedust(PM-10andPM-2.5)ofSasangindustrialcomplex,Busan,Korea.Theconcentrationoffinedustintheindustrialcomplexwas1.2timeshigherthaninaresidentialarea,whileharmfulheavymetalsshowedadifferenceofatleast1.3times(Cd)andupto6.5times(Ni).Theconcentrationoffinedustandcarcinogenicheavymetalsintheindustrialcomplexincreasedsignificantlycomparedtotheresidentialareainspring(MarchtoMay)andwinter(DecembertoFebruary)months.AriskassessmentwasperformedusingMonte-Carlosimulationscontainingafour-stepprocedure.Duringhazardidentification,As,Cr<sup>6+</sup>Ni,Cd,andPbwerecategorizedashumancarcinogensandprobablehumancarcinogensandevaluatedfortheirlevelsofexcesscancerrisk.Forconcentrationsofover90%Cr<sup>6+</sup>andAs,theexcesscancerriskwasover10<sup>-5</sup>(1personper100,000).Thenon-cancerhazardindexofAs,Cr<sup>6+</sup>,Cd,andMnwasbelowthelimitvalueof1.
