새로운 동기정류기 이용한 고효율 하프브리지 DC-DC 컨버터

This paper presents a high efficiency half-bridge dc-dc converter using a novel synchronous rectifier. After conventional self-driven synchronous rectifier technique applied to each conventional converter is briefly reviewed, the new topological self-driven synchronous rectifier applied to the proposed converter is briefly described. The new topological synchronous rectifier increases the system efficiency using low on-resistance of its switches and its switch conduction time extension to the whole switching period, which is one of the characteristics of the asymmetrical half-bridge converter. The synchronous rectifier type used in the proposed converter is a little modified type of the conventional synchronous rectifier used in the conventional asymmetrical half-bridge converter, which changes the transformer structure and synchronous rectifier switch connection. The operational principle of the proposed half-bridge dc-dc converter is explained, and according to this, a design consideration is shown. As the proposed converter utilizes the transformer leakage inductance as the resonant inductance, its structure is more simplified. The circuit operation and mathematical analysis of the proposed converter are given in detail. Also it is shown through the experimental results that the proposed converter operates excellently as a high efficiency converter.
넓은 입력전압 범위에서 동작하는 비대칭 하프브리지 방식의 플라이백 컨버터

This paper presents an asymmetrical half-bridge flyback converter with universal input voltage range. The leakage inductance and output capacitance of active switches are used to realize zero voltage switching(ZVS) operation during the transition state between two switches. In this paper, the operating principle and system analysis of the adopted converter are discussed in detail. A 5V/20A prototype has been implemented to verify the proposed topology and theoretical operation under various load condition and universal input voltage range.

본 논문은 LCD LED 백라이트의 정전류 구동 전원공급 장치를 제안한다. 백라이트로 이용되는 LED의 밝기는 LED로 흐르는 전류에 거의 선형적으로 비례하기 때문에 일정한 밝기를 얻기 위해서는 LED에 정전류가 공급되어야 한다. 제안된 전원공급 장치는 구현이 용이하며 간단한 LED 전류제어 방식을 이용하였으며, 200V의 직류 최대 출력전압과 20W의 최대출력전력을 가진다. 그리고 제안된 회로는 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 회로 동작의 정확함을 보인다.

This paper presents a high efficiency half-bridge DC-DC converter for an LED backlight drive system of LCD module inspection equipment. The proposed converter improves the converter efficiency using characteristics of the asymmetrical half-bridge converter and the self-driven synchronous rectifier, and thus improves the total efficiency of the LED backlight drive system. The synchronous rectifier applied to the proposed converter is the new topological synchronous rectifier, which changes slightly the transformer structure and the synchronous switch connection in the asymmetrical half-bridge converter with a conventional self-driven synchronous rectifier. Since the proposed converter utilizes the transformer leakage inductor as its resonant inductor, its structure is simplified. The proposed converter well operates under the universal DC input voltage (250~380V). The operational principle and a design example for a 100W prototype are discussed in detail, respectively. Experimental results are shown for the designed prototype converter under universal DC input voltage.
두 개의 변압기를 이용한 전류불균형 개선 하프브리지 LLC 공진형 컨버터

본 논문은 상이한 누설인덕턴스를 가진 두 개의 변압기를 이용하여 전류불균형을 개선한 하프브리지 LLC 공진형 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안된 컨버터는 변압기의 누설인덕턴스와 자화인덕턴스 및 공진커패시턴스를 이용하여 공진하고, 넓은 부하영역을 가지며, 경부하에서도 영전압스위칭 조건을 만족한다. 직/병렬로 연결된 두 개의 변압기는 동작모드에 따라 변압기 또는 공진인덕턴스로써 교대로 동작하고, 변압기 2차측에는 누설인덕턴스를 이용하므로 별도 의 출력 필터인덕턴스가 필요하지 않다. 또한 제안된 컨버터는 두 변압기의 상이한 누설인덕턴스와 하프브리지 스위 치의 비대칭 펄스폭변조를 이용하여 2차측 정류다이오드의 전류불균형 문제를 개선한다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 컨버 터의 동작원리를 모드별로 설명하고 프로토타입 컨버터의 설계 예를 제시한다. 제안된 컨버터의 우수한 성능을 입증 하기 위하여 설계된 프로토타입의 회로파라미터로써 프로토타입 컨버터를 제작하고 실험하였다. 제안된 컨버터의 우 수한 성능을 실험결과를 통하여 보인다. This paper presents current unbalance improved half-bridge LLC resonant converter using the two transformers with different leakage inductances. The proposed converter resonates with the leakage inductance and magnetizing inductance of the transformer and the resonant capacitance. The converter operates in a wide load range and satisfies the zero voltage switching even under the light load. The series-parallel connected two transformers act as the transformers or the resonant inductances according to the operational modes, and the separate output filter inductance in the transformer secondary is not needed using the leakage inductance. The current unbalance of the secondary diode rectifier is improved using the different leakage inductances of the two transformers and the asymmetrical pulse-width modulation (PWM). In this paper, the operational principle of the converter is explained by the modes, and the design example for the prototype is also shown. To validate the performance of the converter, the prototype is implemented as the designed circuit parameters and the good performance of the proposed converter is shown through the experimental results

This paper presents a ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching) half-bridge converter of simple structure. The operational principle of the proposed converter is explained, briefly. It is shown through that the experimental results the proposed converter operates excellently as a high efficiency converter. As the proposed converter utilizes the transformer leakage inductor as the resonant inductor, its structure is simplified.

Recently, power supplies with low voltage/high current output are widely used, but conventional power supplies have large power loss, and thus the system efficiency is low. However their control technique is complicated and their elements are many. In this paper, Implementation of High Efficiency Soft-switching Flyback Converter is presented. The proposed converter has been implemented to verify the proposed topology with 5V/20A prototype and theoretical operation under various load condition and universal input voltage range.
간단한 클램프회로를 이용한 고효율 결합인덕터 부스트 직류-직류 변환기

This paper presents a high efficiency coupled inductor boost DC-DC converter that uses a simple clamp circuit and the coupled inductor and thus overcomes output voltage limit of the conventional boost converter. The proposed converter solves problems of voltage stress of the power semiconductor switch and reverse recovery of the output diode using a simple clamp circuit composed of a diode and a capacitor, and thus the converter improves its total efficiency. In this paper, the operational principle of the proposed converter is explained by each mode and then a design example for the prototype converter based on the explanation is shown. And good performance of the proposed converter is verified through experimental results of the prototype converter that is implemented with the designed circuit parameters.
PFC DC-DC 부스트 컨버터와 단상 하프브리지 인버터 구조를 이용한 새로운 오존발생 전원공급장치

As ozone generation equipments for sterilization and special cleansing attract much public attention, recently, many studies on power supplies for generation of ozone are being actively carried out. Therefore this paper presents a novel ozone generation power supply that its control is easier than the conventional ones and it achieves miniaturization using a topology of the PFC DC-DC boost converter and single-phase half-bridge inverter. The proposed power supply operates the power semiconductor switches to be switching using the pulse-width modulation (PWM) technique and thus it minimizes the system loss. In this paper, the operational principles of each part of the proposed power supply is explained by each mode and then its excellent performance is verified through the results of the computer simulation and experiments of a prototype.
두 개의 변압기를 이용한 소프트스위칭 방식의 하프브리지 DC-DC 컨버터

본 논문은 소프트스위칭으로 동작하는 두 개의 변압기를 갖는 하프브리지 DC-DC 컨버터에 관한 것으로써, 종래의 중ㆍ대용량에 적용된 스위칭모드파워서플라이들의 단점을 개선하고, 특히 제안된 컨버터는 소프트스위칭 방식으로 동작함으로써 주 스위치의 전압/전류로 인한 스트레스를 최소화하여 시스템 전체 효율을 증가시킨다. 제안된 컨버터는 200W(25V/8A)의 프로토 타입으로 제작/설계하였고 실험을 통해 컨버터의 성능을 증명한다.
