데이터센터 냉각시스템의 공기분배방식에 따른 IT 공조환경 평가에 대한 실험적 연구

The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of hot-aisle containment (HAC) and cold-aisle containment (CAC) on the thermal management performance of a data center. Cooling is a constant concern for data centers. Not only is it required 24/7 to keep IT equipment within a ASHRAE recommended temperature range but it’s expensive. With raising awareness of data center cooling and its energy cost impact, the HAC or the CAC system is considered one of the most prominent techniques for IT environment control. This study is practice-based learning, investigated the IT environment of the HAC and CAC system in experimental measurements based on the inlet and outlet air temperature distribution of IT equipment. The HAC system at the SA temperature of 17℃ was compared to the CAC system at the SA temperature of 15℃. The results show that data center cooling system with the HAC system is more effective than CAC system at removing heat load of IT servers.
