This study aimed for developing a two stage dual media filtration system. It has a sand and activated carbon layer above the under-drain system, and a sand layer above the middle-drain system for pretreatment. When retrofitting an old sand filter bed or designing a new one, this technology can substitute the existing sand filter bed without requiring a new plant site. The removal rate of total particle is 93, and 3~7 ${\mu}m$ and 5~15 ${\mu}m$ particles are all 97%. These high removal efficiencies of each pollutant due to adsorption and biological oxidation in activated carbon filter layer. The best backwashing method of two stage dual media filtration system is ascertained by air injection, air + water injection and water injection sequence. In this study, a pilot plant of two stage and dual filtration system was operated for 4 months in water treatment plant. The stability of turbidity was maintained below 1 NTU. The TOC, THMFP and HAAFP were removed about 90% by two stage and dual media filtration system, which is almost 2 times higher than existing water treatment plant.
부상여재를 이용한 2단 직접여과 시스템의 총인제거에 관한 연구

Wastewater treatment plants are required to meet the enhanced discharge standards which are differentiated by 0.2, 0.3 and O.5mgT-P/L for the district I, II and III, respectively. Thus, this study was performed whether the two stage direct filtration system combined process of inline mixer process and upflow two stage filter process with floating filter medium was an efficient treatment method for total phosphorus removal from secondary sewage effluent. In the two stage direct filtration experiments, coagulants including aluminum sulphate (alum), polyaluminium chloride (PACI), polyaluminum silicate chloride-2 (PACS-2) ferric chloride (FeCl3) were injected to study the optimum condition for the P04-P removal by jar test. The maximal T-P removal efficiency was achieved for 2.5~3.0 AI (Fe)/P mole ratio and pH 6.0-6.5. Based on the two stage direct filtration experiments, it can be concluded that PACI and FeCl3 were found as an efficient coagulant for the total phosphorus removal and better flocculation. The operation of the two stage direct filtration system at filtration rate of 600m/day could achieve satisfied T-P removal.

본 연구는 가정 옥내급수관에 적수 및 탁수 등을 유발하고 철, 구리 등 중금속이 용출될 수 있는 부식 문제 해결을 위해 인산염계 부식억제제를 주입하는 회분식 실험을 통해 옥내급수관으로 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 아연도 강관의 표면 도금이 벗겨진 상태인 탄소강관을 대상으로 주요 수질인자의 변화, 철의 용출농도 변화, 부식도 및 부착도 평가, 시편의 상태를 고찰하였다. 탄소강관에서 부식억제제를 주입하였을때 pH, 전기전도도, 알칼리도, Ca-경도 등의 부식성 수질인자는 약간의 변화가 있었으나, 큰 영향은 없었다. 탁도의 경우 부식억제제를 5 ㎎ P<sub>2</sub>O₅/L 주입시 주입하지 않은 것에 비해 약 10배 정도 낮게 나타나 부식억제제가 탁도 유발 억제에 큰 효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 부식억제제의 주입농도가 5 ㎎ P<sub>2</sub>O₅/L일 때까지는 부식억제제 농도가 증가함에 따라 철(Fe) 용출농도와 부식도가 서서히 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 부식억제제 5 ㎎ P<sub>2</sub>O₅/L 주입시 급격히 감소하여 부식억제제를 주입하지 않은 경우 보다 각각 약 12.2배, 약 24배의 저감 효과를 보였다. 결론적으로 인산염계 부석억제제 약 5 ㎎ P<sub>2</sub>O₅/L 주입은 옥내 급수관 내부 표면에 치밀한 방식 피막을 형성하여 부식제어에 효과가 있을 것으로 판단된다. This study was performed to estimate the water quality parameters on corrosion such as pH, turbidity, Fe released concentration, corrosion rate by using batch reactor for corrosion control of phosphate corrosion inhibitor in carbon steel pipes. The pH, conductivity, alkalinity, and Ca hardness showed a slight change for dosing the phosphate corrosion inhibitor with carbon steel pipe in batch reactor. The turbidity was about ten times lower with 5 ㎎ P<sub>2</sub>O₅/L of the corrosion inhibitor than that without. The Fe released concentration and corrosion rate was decreased by about 12.2, 24 times with 5 ㎎ P<sub>2</sub>O₅/L of the corrosion inhibitor than that without. In conclusion, the optimum concentration of the phosphate corrosion inhibitor was found to be 5 ㎎ P<sub>2</sub>O₅/L. The effect of the corrosion inhibitor was significant for the carbon steel plate samples tested in this study. The corrosion inhibitor can be an effective cure for corrosion and red water problem preventing the service pipe from further corrosion.
인산염계 부식억제제 주입이 배급수관내 미생물 재성장에 미치는 영향

This study aims to measure the microorganisms attached in the steel pipe, stainless steel, STS 304, and PVC to find out the impact of the corrosion inhibitor on the microbial regrowth within the water pipe and at the same time compare the characteristics of biological film formation depending on the concentration of residual chlorine and the changes in the concentration of corrosion inhibitor. When the corrosion inhibitor was injected in the condition that the treatment water is more or less than TOC 2mg/L, the increase or decrease in the amount of attached microorganisms did not appear and the amount of attached microorganisms was less than the control group that the corrosion inhibitor was not injected. This means that phosphate components are not used as necessary nutrients for the growth of microorganisms in the condition that the concentration of organic matter is low and at the same time, is considered that the corrosion inhibitor formed the thin films on the surface of metal pipe to avoid the progression of corrosion, thus minimizing the growth environment where microorganisms like corrosion products are inhabitable.
상수도관 부식제어를 위한 pH 및 알칼리도 조절에 따른 수질인자 고찰

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the water quality parameters by the pH and alkalinity adjustment for corrosion for corrosion control in water pipes. Ca(OH)2 used to adjust the pH was somewhat effective than NaOH for corrosion control in water pipes. The turbidity increase of alkaline chemicals was Ca(OH)2 >NaHCO3>Na2OH3>NaOH. The corrosion rate and iron concentration eluted in the carbon steel pipe coupons were decreased with increasing alkalinity. In conclusion, the alkaline chemicals to control of water pipes should be selected by considering maintenance, price economy and safety.
