Clinically the arthritis occupies much part of musculoskeletal diseases. The arthritis is subordinate to Bi-jeung in the oriental medicine. No matter what is cause of the diseases, the lesions of the arthritis are mostly cartilages and bursa. But in process of the depravation bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments and blood are influenced and become new the lesions of the arthritis, it is important that the treatments of the oriental medicine must be objectified and we must absorb a good of the western medical treatments and understand the excellent study of the arthritis in the western medicine. This study was done to comply a reference of 56 master's theses on the cartilage of the western medicine. And these theses were classified by the college, time, treatments and topics. The following resutls were obtained in this study: 1. Whereas In the theses on the cartilages of the western medicine, Jung-ang and Catholic university have the more theses than any other universities. 2. Analysing the theses on the cartilages of the western medicine, we can classify them by the topics with the influence on the regeneration and culture of the cartilages, observation of the historical structure and the influence on the cartilages by the operation. 3. The theses of the influence on the regeneration and culture of the cartilages were the most, 48%, and the second was the influence on the cartilages by the operation.(22%) However the theses on the observation of the historical structure occupied 16%.

加味芎歸湯 및 加味芎歸湯加鹿茸이 흰쥐의 骨折癒合에 미치는 影響

Gamigungguitang(GMGGT)andGamigungguitangGaNokyong(GMGGTN) are one of the importent prescription that has been used in oriental medicine(dongyyibangjehak) for helling fractured condition. The study was done to evaluate effects of GMGGT and GMGGTN water extract on the tibia fractured rats. The result were obtained as follows 1. In the change of X-ray, all experimental group was significantly effected than control, 2. In the changes of body weight, all experimental group was decreased than control. 3. In the change of Ca, P and ALP(alkaline phosphatase) on serum, all experimental group was not significant. 4. In the change of bone tissue, all experimental group was was significantly effected than control in callus formation and maturity. From above results, GMGGT and GMGGTNBSH were had significant effects on the helling of fractured in rats, so it is expected to clinical application.

This study was done to investigate the distribution of disease, which belongs to the people who came to the Daejon Oriental Hospital for the examination of CVA. The results were as follows : 1. It shows the highest ratio in his 40's and in her 50's. 2. The Hypertension patient is 26% and 40's is the highest, by 35%. 3. The Obesity patient is 51% and 50's is the highest, by 57%. 4. The Diabet mellitus patient is 5% and 30's is the highest, by 9%. 5. The Hyperlipidemia patient is 44% and 60's is the highest, by 52%. 6. The Liver disease patient is 18% and 40's, 50's is the highest, by 21%. 7. Abnormal EKG patient is 39% and 60's is the highest, by 57%. 8. 16% patient have abnormalities in brain CT and 70's is the highest, by 42%. 9. 70% patient have abnormalities in C-spine series and 70's is the highest, by 85%. 10. 32% patient have abnormalities in Chest PA and 70's is the highest, by 99%. 11. Soyang type is 32%, Soyum type is 25%, Taeyum type is 43% and Taeyang type is 0%.
