Dr. Hyon Sook Yheo. 2000. A Study of Counseling through Christian Language Activity. Collected Papers on Christian Language Culture. On the basis of the Bible, this paper inguires into the theories of many other researchers for counseling and language activity. In this connection, this paper makes an introductory remark in Chapter 1, arguing the concept of counseling and its types and practice in Chapter 2, the concept of language centering around Christian idea in Chapter 3, the types of language activity in Chapter 4, the relation of counseling language in Chapter 5, and finally, this paper reaches a conclusion in chapter 6. In conclusion this paper proposes that our lips should keep knowledge in the fear of God, so that people may seek the law of the Lord, as seen in Malachi Chap. 3, "The law of turth was not in his mouth, injustice was not found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and equity, and turned many away from iniquity. For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, and the people should seek the law from his mouth ; for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.(6-7) In this connection, our counseling which is kept knowlege with our lips is to have a helpful opportunity for us to genuinely listen and respond with open mind and love to those who suffer from deep wounds, emotional scars, and hidden problems that can hardly be shared with others. And it is also to be an opportunity for God to use us as His messengers to be a sign of His presence among wounded people.(Prof. the Bethany Theological Seminary)

This paper aims to study the continual struggling space of power and desire of Roman Polanski’s Macæth 1971 through the naked frailties, bearbaiting and mise en abyme lightly based on the absurdity viewpoint. Chapter Ⅱ investigates the space of desire and power through the body exposed of the witches, Duncan and Lady Macbeth. The body exposed in Polanski’s films serves as a visual sign of vulnerability of an embattled identity liable to challenge through unremitting interaction between the inner impulse and desire of the subject. Chapter Ⅲ examines the space of struggling and violence compared with those of the bearbaiting. This brutal scene not only counterpoints the violence in the human sphere but also projects Polanski’s view that a king’s fate, like that of the chained bear, is to be attacked and ultimately destroyed by bloodthirsty underlings. Chapter Ⅳ deals with mise en abyme, the sequence appearing to recur infinitely, through the comparison between the ending part of Shakespeare’s Macbeth and that of Roman Polanski’s. In Polanski’s Macbeth 1971, the structure is circular like the one in an absurd drama. The circle is repeating, therefore, there is no escape from repetition. Finally, this paper helps us realize that the reality we live in now is never avoidable from the circle of desire and power in spite of trying to escape from them.
