In the development of American political history, it was in the Age of Jackson that, at first, the president was selected from western and ordinary people through Convention, which contrasted the previous custom that symbolized eastern-oriented-elite group selected through undemocratic caucus. Also, it was in the Age of Jackson that the democratic spoils system, which used as rotation in offices, put onto effect. The American historians interested in during 1830s have terms these reform movement as Jacksonian Democracy. The historians have looked upon Andrew Jackson, as a States` rightist and egalitarian republican. And so, in the course of evolution of important events during the age of Jackson, I would like to analyze the exact meaning about Jacksonian Democracy. On the basis of the his manuscripts at that time, I came to the conclusion that Jackson thought the voice of the people as a supreme law. Although the President was a man of powerful prejudices and passions, he identified his views with the voice of the people. Anyone who, he thought, crossed him was therefore an enemy of the sovereign people. To fulfill this voice of the people in the political area, he thought that the preservation of Stats` rights against Union`s was indispensible precondition to achieve people-oriented democracy. He shared the strong faith in the self-reliance states-oriented republic community. And so, although the course of events during Jackson`s term was erratic, but when his presidency was done, the federal authority was vast weaker, and the states, for practical purposes, were supreme.

But their writings are monotonous in the explanation of the causes and effects in these three momentums. And if we would have revised edition in the next year, furthermore interests are needed in these prospects.

This essay aims to understand the recently American history of historiography on the oil study. Specially, I am interesting about why and how American historians could been approached and transformed in the oil and its many interesting-sub title in the long historical vistas. At the earlier time of oil study, they mainly focused on oil’s strategic and tactical weapons to develop America friendly environmental condition in the world politics and economics. On the other hand, after the BP disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, they have turned to the effect on ecological terms. Finally, this turn is very significant because there’s happened so many kinds of historical approaches on the oil history, but traditional strategic momentum has been weakened relatively.

The Purpose of this study is to review and survey the Business and Entrepreneurial historiography in American history from 1980 to 1999. With this objective, I am also searching for the answers about why, when, how these subjects have been considered into the more important historical subjects within economic history. These subjects are comparatively much newer than any other economic sub-title within economic historical researching spectrum. From the 1920s, Edwin F. Gay, at the Harvard School of Business Administration, an institution of which Gay was himself a founder and the First dean, Norman S. B. Gras and Arthur H. Cole had been beginning, and building the detailed research in the American business and entrepreneurial history. At least, from the 1950s, the researching courses had been finished into the Business history and the Entrepreneurial history. There are entirely legitimate main differences at the methodology and contents between two subjects. Business historians investigated the ideas, strategics, structures at the business company building history. On the while, Entrepreneurial historians did the virtues, innovations, social norms effecting the creature of the entrepreneurial genius. At last, I suggested that the main reason why these subjects were comparatively more embraced and populated be derived from their divergent and enlarged historical prospects and vistas which mainly were owing to sociological method and paradigm. Specially, the modernization framework had been influencing business history. Louis Galambos and Alfred D. Chandler, Jr., have integrated Parsonsnian and Weberian Sociology into their business researching to illustrate and explicate from the rise of the modern business enterprise and administration to those of $quot;entrepreneurship.$quot; Finally, I investigated the recently historiography in Business and Entrepreneurial history through Business Historical Review. Specially, the recent trends and studies are fragmented and diversified into such sub-fields as gender, ecological aspects, black entrepreneurial experiences, child labor, and so on. Despite fragmentation and diversification, however, since the beginning of this historical discipline its basic codes have never been changed: strategy and structure with sincere concern about modernization.

This critical essay aims to explain the retrospects about the Korean researches about American History during the last two years (2009~2010), and to see the prospects and problems they will face. During the last two years, Korean historians have enlarged historical subjects and approaching skills and methods. Specially there are very new horizons appeared in epidemic, city, internal improvements, military, cinema, painting history. Also, traditional historical fields and historians such as diplomatic, politic, economic sections are not idled in their time away. But there is one careless part of Korean historians not to communicate and reach a broader public through writing books. Traditionally, the outstanding American historians such as Daniel J. Boorstein, Arthur Schlesinger Jr., Stephen Ambrose, David McCullough, James McPherson, Richard White, Gordon Wood have explained American history to the general people. And so, Korean professional historians should enlarge their energy to search and reach general people through diverse meetings and lectures, and writing books.
