This study was conducted to understand the relationship between the heat conduction and the tracking and erosion of insulating materials due to outdoor pollution. Silicon Carbide was surface-modified under a silicon base, and the modified SiC nanoparticles were dispersed in a silicone resin for dispersibility and interfacial reinforcement to prepare SiR/Nano SiC composites. The characteristics of heat conduction according to the change of SiC filling content were studied. Leakage current and erosion depth and amount of erosion according to the change of filling content 0, 1, 3, 5, 7, wt% were obtained from the tracking and erosion properties. In addition, it was found that the interrelationship of how the tracking and erosion properties were influenced by the heat conduction had a significant effect.
