This paper presents a numerical study on the nozzle design of air curtain in the tunnel. The purpose of the air curtain in tunnel is to block the fire smoke. The numerical study has been carried out to investigate the influence of discharge angle at air curtain and velocity at nozzle exit. Those are very important to the performance of the smoke prevention. In order to achieve an optimum design and to explain the interactions between the different geometric configurations in air curtain system, the three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and single factor design have been applied. At present, our attention is focused on the velocity distribution(flow width and flow position) of 1.5m on the ground in tunnel. Also, we analyzed the influence of draft in the tunnel. Detailed effects of discharge angle of air curtain and velocity at nozzle exit are discussed.
