        튜브형태의 끈(Tube-Shaped String)을 활용한 의상 디자인 연구

        String, as clothing material, has played a functional, symbolic and decorative role in garment traditionally. The string has a shape of continuous line, which is one of the basic elements for the design: points, lines and sides. It can effectively represent the silhouette by making our vision flow to a certain direction. This study reinterprets the traditional form of string in a new modern way by developing “Tube-Shaped String which has an empty hole in the middle. As a creative attempt, the new tube-shaped string can be used for fashion design by applying it to unique shapes, colors, textures, and draping expressions. In a role dimension, this string can become the main fabric material. The methods of the study are as follows. First, it examines the traditional shape and role of string in the history of garment. Second, it studies modern designers, such as Christian Dior, Ann Demeulemeester, Dolce & Gabbana, and 3.1 Phillip Lim, who have applied the string to their design, and have explored the various potentials of the string in the past four years. Finally, based on the theoretical research and practical analysis, this study creates a new tube-shaped string, applying its own technique to fabricating three garments: jacket, dress, and body suit. As a result, each garment shows unique silhouettes, rich texture and color, and rhythmical movement. The unique silhouettes reflect the shape and movement of different bodies. The texture and color are created through the shades of the string which come from the overlapping strips. The garments come with an unbeatable aesthetic design compared to conventional uniform design. As a new material in clothing, this tube-shaped string can be developed to satisfy the public, which has widely varying tastes in fashion.

        『뉴욕타임즈』에 나타난 한국 패션 보도 분석

        글로벌 시대에 한국의 패션문화산업은 한류를 통한 문화적 교류와 함께 고부가가치를 창출하며 국가 이미지 제고에 영향을 미치고 있다. 그러나 이러한 영향력의 경로가 되는 글로벌 언론 보도에 관한 연구는 미비한 현황이다. 본 연구는 세계적으로 다수의 독자수를 가지고 공신력을 인정받고 있는 매체 중 하나인 『뉴욕타임즈』를 선정하여 한국의 패션에 관련된 기사를 추출하고 보도 내용에서 어떤 측면이 부각되고 있는지를 살펴보아 한국의 대외적 이미지를 규명하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 2010년 1월 1일부터 2014년 12월 31일까지의 최근 5년간의 『뉴욕타임즈』 기사에서 "Korean Fashion"의 키워드를 입력하여 우선적으로 검색하고, 그 중 한국의 패션과 관련이 있는 기사 총 101건을 내용 분석방법(Content Analysis)을 통해 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 한국패션 관련 기사량은 연도에 따라 2010년 13건에서 2014년 32건으로 증가하고 있었으며 특히 한국 디자이너에 관한 보도와 한류 문화 콘텐츠와 관련된 보도가 각각 28건과 22건으로 빈번히 보도되는 것이 나타났다. 한국 패션에 대한 기사량이 증가한 것은 한류 콘텐츠에 의한 한국 문화에 대한 관심과 더불어 한류 스타들의 문화 간 교류 증대, 한국 디자이너들의 국제적 행사 참여와 활동의 증가, 한국 정부차원의 글로벌 디자이너 육성 사업 등의 다양한 요인들이 복합적으로 작용한 결과로 파악되었다. 또한, 한국 패션 산업에 대한 인식 분석 결과, 한국은 ``상류계급의 패션``, ``중국의 패션 마켓에 영향을 미치는 곳``, ``신흥 시장``이라는 표현과 더불어 SPA브랜드에서부터 럭셔리브랜드에 이르기까지 소비할 수 있는 의미 있는 시장을 보유한 것으로 인식되고 있는 것이 부각되어 나타났다. In the global era, the fashion culture industry of Korea is influencing the boost of the country``s image by creating high values along with cultural exchange through the Korean Wave. However studies on the global media reports which are the route of these influences are at an inadequate state. This study selected the 『New York Times』, one of the media acknowledged for its public confidence with a great number of readers, and extracted articles related to the fashion of Korea as well as examined what aspects were being emerged in the contents of the reports, to investigate the public image of Korea. In this study, a search was preferentially conducted by inputting "Korean Fashion" as the keyword in 『New York Times』 articles of the past 5 years from January 1st 2010 to December 31st 2014, and among them, a total of 101 articles related to Korean fashion were analyzed through Content Analysis. The results of this study showed that the number of articles related to Korean fashion was increasing from 13 in 2010 to 32 in 2014, and reports especially on Korean designers and the Korean Wave culture contents were shown to be reported frequently with the numbers 28 and 22 respectively. The reasons for the increase in the number of articles on Korean fashion were grasped to be the results of the complex interactions of the various factors such as the increase in exchanges of the culture of the stars of the Korean Wave along with the interests in Korean fashion due to the Korean Wave contents, increase in the participation and activities of Korean designers in international events, global designer foster projects of the Korean government, etc. Also, as a result of a recognition an analysis on the Korea fashion industry, it was shown that Korea was being perceived as possessing a significant market for consuming SPA(Specialty store retailer of Private label Apparel) brands to luxurious brands along with the expressions ``upscale fashion``, ``laying plans to crack China``s fashion``, and ``emerging market.``

        디자인 분야에서 빅데이터를 활용한 감성평가방법 모색-한복 연관 디자인 요소, 감성적 반응, 평가어휘를 중심으로-

        This study seeks a method to objectively evaluate sensibility based on Big Data in the field of design. In order to do so, this study examined the sensibility responses on design factors for the public through a network analysis of texts displayed in social media. `Hanbok`, a formal clothing that represents Korea, was selected as the subject for the research methodology. We then collected 47,677 keywords related to Hanbok from 12,000 posts on Naver blogs from January 1st to December 31st 2015 and that analyzed using social matrix (a Big Data analysis software) rather than using previous survey methods. We also derived 56 keywords related to design elements and sensibility responses of Hanbok. Centrality analysis and CONCOR analysis were conducted using Ucinet6. The visualization of the network text analysis allowed the categorization of the main design factors of Hanbok with evaluation terms that mean positive, negative, and neutral sensibility responses. We also derived key evaluation factors for Hanbok as fitting, rationality, trend, and uniqueness. The evaluation terms extracted based on natural language processing technologies of atypical data have validity as a scale for evaluation and are expected to be suitable for utilization in an index for sensibility evaluation that supplements the limits of previous surveys and statistical analysis methods. The network text analysis method used in this study provides new guidelines for the use of Big Data involving sensibility evaluation methods in the field of design.

        인공지능에 의한 개인 맞춤 패션 스타일 추천 서비스 사례 연구

        This study analyzes the trends of recommendation services for customized fashion styles in relation to artificial intelligence. To achieve this goal, the study examined filtering technologies of collaborative, content based, and deep-learning as well as analyzed the characteristics of recommendation services in the users' purchasing process. The results of this study showed that the most universal recommendation technology is collaborative filtering. Collaborative filtering was shown to allow intuitive searching of similar fashion styles in the cognition of need stage, and appeared to be useful in comparing prices but not suitable for innovative customers who pursue early trends. Second, content based filtering was shown to utilize body shape as a key personal profile item in order to reduce the possibility of failure when selecting sizes online, which has limits to being able to wear the product beforehand. Third, fashion style recommendations applied with deep-learning intervene with all user processes of buying products online that was also confirmed to penetrate into the creative area of image tag services, virtual reality services, clothes wearing fit evaluation services, and individually customized design services.

        산학 연계 프로젝트 기반 학습(PBL)을 활용한 AI 패션 큐레이션 실습 교과목 운영 사례 연구

        In the fourth industrial revolution, fashion students are expected to work with various technologies to show creativity. This study aimed to conduct project-based learning(PBL) in collaboration with industry experts to design and operate artificial intelligence(AI) in the practice subject of fashion curation through the industrial academic teaching method. We first looked at teaching methods and strategies incorporating PBL in various academic fields. Next, we analyzed fashion projects and fashion curation services applying AI. Then through the question-and-answer method and by consulting with industry experts, we developed a curriculum for AI fashion curation, applying PBL(fashion market and trend analysis; new styles and time, place, and occasion planning; AI machine learning data set production; curation model development; and evaluation) suitable for the university's educational environment, information technology company conditions, and fashion students. As part of a close cooperation system with the industry, we conducted a 15-week Fashion Project II (Capstone Design) course and evaluated the outcomes and student satisfaction with the course. Students were able to develop new style, and time, place, and occasion categories and to utilize strategies for AI fashion curation services reflecting the unique needs of Millennials and Generation Z. Students showed high satisfaction with the curriculum. Further, it was confirmed that the study successfully applied PBL in class using AI technology in fashion education.

        글로벌화를 위한 패션 감성어휘 추출

        현대 사회는 감성 사회로 소비자들은 디자인을 선택하는 것에 있어 단순히 기능적이고 실용적인 것을 넘어서 자신의 감성의 충족을 원한다. 본 연구에서는 글로벌 소비자들의 패션 감성을 이해하기 위한 패션 감성어휘를 연구하여 국제적으로 통용 가능한 패션 감성 평가 척도를 위한 기초를 마련하고자 하였다. 연구 방법은 우선 패션 감성에 관한 선행 연구를 고찰하고 여기에서 대표적으로 나타난 감성어휘에 대해 다른 언어 문화권으로의 적용 방안을 알아보았다. 이를 위해 최근 3년간 국제적으로 나타난 패션 감성어휘 951개를 수집하여 국제적 패션 감성어휘 데이터베이스를 만들고 이를 바탕으로 선행 연구에서 추출한 36쌍의 국내 패션 감성어휘를 영어로 번역하고 표현의 적합성을 알아보았다. 또한 번역의 과정에서 발생하는 오류를 최소화하기 위해 이중 번역기법(double-translation technique)을 통해 의미의 동일함을 평가하여 어휘 20쌍을 추출하였다. 또한 추출된 어휘들이 국내의 선행 연구에 기초하고 있다는 점에서, 다른 문화권에서 나타나는 문화적 감성 요인을 반영할 수 있는 어휘 5쌍을 추가하여 최종 25쌍의 어휘 ’soft-hard``, ``complex-simple``, ``feminine-mannish``, ``modern-classic``, ``sexy-pure``, ``unique-ordinary``, ``light-heavy``, ``clean-dirty``, ``natural-technical``, ``delicate-rough``, ``young-adult``, ``funny-serious``, ``fit-baggy``, ``bright-dark``, ``warm-cool``, ``fluid-stiff``, ``shiny-rusty``, ``brave-shy``, ``vivid-neutral``, ``dynamic-static``, ``appropriate-inappropriate``, ``multicultural-traditional``, ``global-local``, ``new-old``, ``edgy-safe``를 글로벌 소비자의 패션 감성을 측정하기에 적합한 국제적 패션 감성어휘로 추출하였다. It is now the era of sensibility when consumers not only desire functional products but also want their sensibility to be fulfilled. When it comes to the fashion industry, where the market has been globalized, the necessity of understanding fashion sensibility is being highlighted more and more. The aim of this paper, therefore, is to select a distinct vocabulary for understanding the fashion sensibility of global consumers and to lay the foundation for an international fashion sensibility scale. This research covers previous research conducted in domestic areas and examines how to applying this research to fashion consumers from different cultures and with language backgrounds. The research collects 951 international fashion vocabulary utilized over the past three years and amalgamates them into a concise adjective database for fashion sensibility. Based on the database, 36 pairs of fashion sensibility vocabulary from previous research have been translated into English and evaluated for their suitability to the global fashion consumer. The “Double-Translation Technique” and cultural factors of sensibility are also adopted into this study to minimize error in order to extract 25 pairs of vocabulary. As a result, combinations, such as ``soft-hard``, ``complex-simple``, ``feminine-mannish``, ``modern-classic``, ``sexy-pure``, ``unique-ordinary``, ``light-heavy``, ``clean-dirty``, ``natural-technical``, ``delicate-rough``, ``young-adult``, ``funny-serious``, ``fit-baggy``, ``bright-dark``, ``warm-cool``, ``fluid-stiff``, ``shiny-rusty``, ``brave-shy``, ``vivid-neutral``, ``dynamic-static``, ``appropriate-inappropriate``, ``multicultural-traditional``, ``global-local``, ``new-old``, ``edgy-safe``, are have been selected as international fashion sensibility vocabulary.

        자하 하디드의 기하학적 형태를 활용한 3D 프린팅 패션디자인 연구

        The latest innovation in the field of fashion comes in the form of 3D-printed clothing. This study explores the composition and characteristics of the shapes in the architecture of Zaha Hadid, a representative architectural designer who expresses space in three dimensions. Hadid applies his aesthetic to fashion design using these distinctive geometric shapes to create design motifs as well as develop new clothing material with 3D printing technology. The research was conducted as follows. First, the lines and arrangement of the geometric shapes in Zaha Hadid's architecture were analyzed so that his design principles could be used as a theoretical basis for this study. The study also reviewed geometric fashion designs using 3D printing technology over the last ten years. Second, we developed triangular modules with rods and tongs that could be fashioned into clothing using fused deposition modeling (FDM) 3D printers. Lastly, the 3D printing fashion design was developed to explore new silhouettes, textures, and a novel way of producing clothing. This study hopes to serve as a stepping-stone for further research on innovations that combine fashion with technology.

        어휘 학습에서 문맥 다양성의 효과

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of context variability on vocabulary learning. In the experiment, the two groups of context variability, diverse context vs. same context, practiced the unknown words through receptive practice module in which the participants repeatedly practice the target words through reading and listening to the given sentences. Their learning of unknown words was measured by four types of vocabulary tests (recognition test, receptive translation test, productive translation test, and productive use test) at three different time points (after two repetitions of the practice module, after four repetitions of the practice module, and one week after completion of the practice module) to observe various features of vocabulary growth in more detail. The result shows that context variability plays a statistically significant role in the vocabulary knowledge development. The unknown words repeated in the diverse context sentences turned out to produce better mean scores in receptive translation test, productive translation, and productive use test, which indicates better retrieval of meaning, forms, and fluent use of the target words.

        패션 유튜브 콘텐츠 유형별 이용자 인식과 커뮤니케이션

        Background/Objectives: This research has analyzed comments on YouTube channels on fashion to understand the most appeared topics that emerged from the channel users' communications. Methods: 24,560 comments were analyzed using the Python 3.9 program. Unstructured text was processed for language detection using the KoNLPy library to extract nouns, verbs, and adjective forms of most and frequently used words. The study has categorized high-frequency vocabulary and conducted topic modeling analysis on comments on “Fashion styling,” Fashion know-how,” and “Fashion hauls” content types. The contents of comments that received a significant number of “likes” were analyzed based on different content types and the communication between the commenters and the YouTubers. Results: The topic modeling results unveiled distinct themes within each type of fashion content. For Fashion styling,” 12 topics were identified, including expressions of gratitude, styling based on body types, purchasing fashion items, and dressing for occasions.“Fashion know-how” brought out ten topics, encompassing the ideas surrounding appreciation, color coordination, information about fashion items, and valuable tips regarding body types. In the “Fashion Haul,” content type, 8 topics were prominent: luxury proxy satisfaction, luxury style, and discussions about luxury items. Analysis of heavily engaged conunents predominantly revealed familiarity between the commenters and the YouTubers. The study have identified and examined a large number of interactions, consisting of one- way and both way communication between the fashion channel commenters and the channel content owners. Conclusion/Implications: These YouTube channels are good platforms for engagmg communication, which more often sparks friendly vibes, fondness, and warmth between everyone engaged with these channels, including the channel content owners. In the texts surrounding “fashion styling,” specific and personalized information was found as most visible, while in “fashion know-how,” addressing channel user s' concerns and issues took precedence. For “fashion hauls,” aspects of proxy satisfaction and value-driven consumption were notable.
