A total number of 81,497 sera according to the tested Hepatitis B virus surface Antigen(HBsAg) and Hepatitis C virus Antibody(anti-HCY) by EIA for study of family members infection on positive blood donors. I have examined the prevalence of HBsAg and anti-HCY in blood donors at Kyungnam Blood Center on positive blood donors in Masan and Changwon area, and the results were summarized as following. Among blood donors the prevalence of HBsAg in male(4.31%), female(2.77%) and anti-HCY in male(0.22), female(0.06%), male was significantly higher than in female. Among 24 blood donors with HBsAg positive, ten(41.7%) were within normal value<under 30lU/L, six(25.0%) of them were 30-45IU/L and two(8.3%) were 46-64lU/L and remainded six(25.0%) were higher alanine aminotranseferase(over 65lU/L), than nomal value. Among eight blood donors with anti-HCY Positive and among of them five(62.5%) were within normal value (under 30lU/L), remained people were one each for :l>-45IU/L, 46-64lU/L, over 65lU/L. HBsAg prevalence sera were seven out of 47 family members of 24 positive blood donors and anti-HCY prevalence sera was one out of 21 family members of eight positive blood donors by EIA method. Among seven with HBsAg positive, five were with HBsAg and one were anti-HCY directly infected by between, mother to infant transmission and estimated and remainning two with HBsAg positive was same with his spouse.
