개혁주의생명신학으로 본 한국교회 청년대학생사역의 문제점과 그 대안: 제2의 종교개혁을 기대하면서

한국교회는 민족의 아픈 현실 속에서 겨자씨 한 알처럼 시작하였지만 대한민국의 건국과 조국의 근대화와 산업화, 그리고 민주화에 큰 기여를 하면서 소금과 빛의 역할을 다하였다. 그러나 오늘의 한국교회는 사회로부터 사랑과 존경을 받지 못하고 있다. 더욱 심각한 일은 청년대학생이 교회를 떠난다는 사실이다. 이 겨레와 함께 하였던 한국교회가 그 겨레로부터 외면당하고 있다. 교회가 영적인 생명력을 잃어버리고 세속의 가치를 따라가고 있기 때문이다. 교회 안팎에서 “제2의 종교개혁이 일어나야 한다.”는 말이 들리고 있다. 한국교회는 암담한 중세교회 현실에서 개혁의 횃불을 높이 들었던 개혁자들의 후예로서 개혁운동을 시작할 때이다. “교회는 `개혁된 교회`가 아니라 `항상 개혁하는 교회`이어야 한다.” 개혁은 한 시대에 끝나는 것이 아니라 계속되어야 할 성경정신이다. 그 개혁운동은 어디에서부터 시작되어야 하는가? 개혁운동은 청년대학생사역에서부터 일어나야 한다. 그리고 그 개혁운동은 개혁주의생명신학에 뿌리를 둬야 한다. 개혁주의생명신학의 유일한 목표는 성령의 능력으로 우리 자신이 변화되어 주님의 몸 된 교회를 살리고, 세상에 그리스도의 생명의 복음을 전하여 하나님께 영광을 돌리는 것이다. 따라서 필자는 한국교회 청년대학생사역을 개혁주의생명신학의 렌즈로 진단하고 그에 대한 대안을 제시 하고자 한다. 그 대안은 한국교회 지도자들이 청년대학부사역에 대한 인식을 전환하고, 1대1 성경공부와 소그룹 사역, 그리고 성경적 설교를 통하여 공동체성을 회복하는 것이다. 그리하여 한 사람을 신행일치의 제자, 평신도 자비량 선교사로 양성하는 것이다. 그 모든 일의 뿌리에는 전도와 기도가 있어야 한다. 한국교회가 성경적 생명가치를 회복시키는 개혁주의생명신학을 붙들고 사역과 삶의 현장에서 실천한다면 위기를 극복하고 제2의 종교개혁운동이 일어날 것이다. 그리하여 한국교회는 다시 한번 겨레와 하는 함께 하는 생명력 있는 교회, 한반도를 넘어서 오대양 육대주에 수많은 선교사를 파송하고 세계역사에 중추적인 역할을 감당하는 제사장 나라로 쓰임 받을 것이다. The Korean church, which originated as a kernel of wheat during national crisis, has now spread its roots and grown as a tree in which birds can nest. In the process of establishing this nation, its modernization, industrialization and democratization, the church took its role as the salt and light of society. However, in contemporary society, the church has found itself in disrepute. The most pressing issue lies in that youths do not wish to stay within the church, highlighting that is has become outdated and is increasingly shunned. The reason for this lies in that churches have lost their spiritual power and have conformed to the secularism of this world. This highlights the need for the second reformation of the church. Today`s believers are the descendants of reformers in the middle age who lifted their voices and effected change. Reformation entails continuity, it is not finished with the work of one generation but it is a continual and ongoing process of change. Churches must be reformed continually. This is biblical reformation. Where will this change begin? Campus youth ministry is the starting point of reformation. The foundation of this lies in Reformed Life theology. The ultimate purpose of Reformed Life theology is to let ourselves to be transformed by the power of the Spirit so that we may resuscitate the church and glorify God. In light of this, I would like to propose alternative ways to address the current spiritual situation of campus youth ministry in Korea. Alternatives such as encouraging a paradigm shift in Korean spiritual leaders regarding campus youth ministry, the recovery of the Christian community through one to one Bible study, small group ministry and Biblical preaching. Its fruit will be the genuine disciple who practice Biblical teachings in their actual lives and self-supporting lay missionaries who can spread the gospel of Jesus to the world. The root of all these works must be evangelization and prayer. Reformed Life theology is the way to restore the Biblical values of life. We must pay heed to it and cling to it, practice it until the second reformation arises in our generation. With this, the Korean church will be regain its spiritual power and influence and Korea will become a conduit for sending missionaries the world over. And God will use Korea as a priestly nation for world mission again.
