Objectives : This experimental study was designed to investigate the effects of Soeuminbang(SEIB) on obese mice. Methods : In order to investigate the obese inhibitory effects of SEIB, C57BL/6 mice were induced by high fat diet. C57BL/6 mice were divided into three group(normal, high fat diet, high fat diet with SEIB extract) and fed for 13weeks. The measurements have been performed on ; the weight ; the quantity of AST, ALT, cholesterol, triglyceride, total protein, albumin ; and the quantity of obesity gene expression. Results : Soeuminbang(SEIB) decreased with the significance the body weight change and the final increase of body weight in obese-mouse. SEIB decreased with the significance the weight of adipocyte in obese-mouse and also decreased the blood level of serum ALT, AST, total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and trigriceride, total protein and albumin in obese-mouse. SEIB increased β3AR gene expression in primary adipocytes isolated from obese-mouse and decreased leptin expression in adipocytes tissue isolated from obese-mouse. SEIB decreased GLUT1 and GLUT4, TNF-α expression in primary adipocytes isolated from obese-mouse. Conclusions : Based on these results, it is proved that SEIB is effective on obesity care and has obese-inhibitory effects in obese-mouse induced by high fat diet. So it is respected that the clinical application of SEIB can help the treatment of obesity.
