한국의 십이지신(十二支神)과 오방색을 응용한 바디페인팅 일러스트레이션 연구

In the 21st century, industry trends have rapidly shifted from knowledge-based IT to the cultural content industry. Therefore, it’s been necessary to create a differentiated brand based on national identity. With the explosive growth of the K-beauty industry, Korea’s cosmetology industry has spread globally. Under these circumstances, the Asia Beauty Festival has evolved into a global cultural content platform for the popular arts and culture industry, which targets the spread of the beauty of Korea around the world. This study attempted to introduce Korea’s traditional beauty after analyzing the aesthetic elements and symbolic meanings of sibijisin (12 gods of the Korean zodiac) and Obangsaek through body painting illustration and to boost the significance of Korean folklore. As a result, sibijisin, a fruit of Korea’s tenacious faith and philosophy, was applied according to the symbolic meaning based on its color images. In addition, it displayed a strong messaging effect by expressing sibijisin on the human body in a realistic manner as well as being a good option for advertising Korea’s traditional beauty. It was shown that certain advantages can be found in the makeup industry only with artistic value and differentiated communication through performances. As pre-draft concept, in addition, illustration creates a certain form in a rapid and precise fashion, helping users improve their skills and build self-confidence. It is anticipated that there would be further attempts to build competitive advantage through the convergence and recreation of diverse industries that focus on Korea’s traditional beauty and characteristics and to further develop Korea’ beauty and culture industry.

쿠사마 야요이(Kusama Yayoi)의 조형성을 응용한 네일 디지털 디자인에 관한 연구

Nail art, a beauty icon of modern times, is rapidly developing in the Republic of Korea and abroad. As new products are being developed continuously, there has been a strong demand for the development of new design that meets the trend that customers want. The emergence of an automatic nail printer has solved time and cost-related problems, and customers have been able to have photos printed on their nails. This study attempted to analyze modern nail design by newly re-illuminating modern art based on the modern artist Kusama Yayoi’s art work. In terms of design method, it attempted to create diverse ideas using digital techniques. As a result, people have been able to get access to Kusama’s unique motifs in an easy and simple fashion and create diverse patterns regarding formative aspects. In addition, fancy color and modern aspects of opposite coloration were appropriate for reinterpretation with modern design. A study of design using digital technology is advantageous in expressing diverse patterns, changing colors without limitations, and predicting results. In addition, it is very convenient in adjusting design. For this, however, users should be well experienced and skilled enough to handle Photoshop. Once they are able to use Photoshop, nail design will be able to move in a new direction as another art genre with extended expression opportunities. It is expected that continued digital study on nail design will bring about unique and creative nail design.

조각보의 전통적인 구조적 패턴과 배색원리를 적용한 네일아트 디자인 연구

우리선조들의 지혜와 현대적인 조형미가 살아있는 조각보는 전통적인 우리의 문화를 일상생활에 접목시켜 대중화시킨 소재로 공예의 한 장르이자 한국을 대표하는 우리의 귀한 문화유산이다. 우리의 전통문화는 오랜 세월에 걸쳐 고유한 가치를 인정받음에 따라 전통미를 활용한 디자인 창출이 요구되고 현대적 디자인에 맞게 승화시켜야 할 필요성이 제기된다. 조각보의 정형화되지 않은 탁월한 색채감각과 구성미는 독특한 예술성을 지닌다는 점에서 새롭게 조명할 가치가 있으므로, 본 연구에서는 조각보를 통해 기하학적인 면구성과 고풍스러운 색채 조화에 의한 세련되고 현대적인 감각에 맞는 네일 디자인으로 재해석하여 우리만의 독창성과 전통미를 알리고자 하였다. 이에 전통적인 소재인 조각보를 모티브로 차별화된 네일 디자인을 구축하고자 총 8개의 디자인으로 연구한 결과, 기하학적인 구조적 패턴과 다양한 색채들의 탁월한 배색효과는 세련된 현대적 디자인에 용이하였고, 간결하고 절묘한 구성미 또한 응용가능성이 충분하였다. 또한 포토샵을 이용한 디자인 표현방법에 있어서는 다양한 디자인 창출이 가능하였다. 이와 같이 우리 고유의 문화 특성을 올바르게 인식하고 전통 문화 유산을 현대적으로 재해석하는 다양한 시도를 걸쳐 우리만의 정체성과 전통미를 창조, 계승시켜 나아가야 할 것이다. Jogakbo, a patchwork wrapping cloth with the wisdom the ancestors and modern formative beauty, is Korea’s flagship cultural heritage to be a genre of handicraft that applies traditional Korean culture to people’s daily lives. The value of traditional culture is recognized for a long time. Therefore, there is a need to create design using the beauty of tradition and modern design. The remarkable unstandardized color sense and composition beauty of jogakbo are worthy of re-illumination for its unique artistry. Therefore, this study reanalyzes the geometric plane composition and antique color harmony in modern and stylish nail design through jogakbo to disseminate uniqueness and beauty of Korean tradition. For this, a total of eight different designs were examined to create differentiated nail design with jogakbo as a motif. As a result, the geometric structural patterns and diverse color matching effects of jogakbo were advantageous in creating a refined modern design. They were also useful in generating a simple and exquisite beauty of composition. Diverse designs were designed using Photoshop. Therefore, it is necessary to keep creating and inheriting the identity and beauty of Korea through diverse means by correct understanding of the characteristics of traditional culture and reanalyzing traditional cultural heritage from a modern perspective.

플루이드 아트(Fluid Art)기법을 적용한 추상적 표현의 바디페인팅 작품 연구

현대에는 소셜 네트워크를 기반으로 각종 정보와 콘텐츠를 공유하게 되었고, 유튜브, 핀터레스트와 같은 소셜 미디어 플랫폼이 형성되면서 그 자체가 하나의 문화로 자리매김하게 되었다. 최근에는 다양한 콘텐츠 중 하나인 플루이드 아트가 다양한 분야와 접목이 가능한 멀티 아트로 국내외에서 주목을 받고 있다. 이에 바디페인팅의 전시작품을 위한 새로운 아이디어 소재로도 가능하다고 사료되어, 본 연구에서는 플루이드 아트를 바디페인팅에 적용시켜 추상적 표현의 새로운 기법을 창출하고자 하였다. 방법에 있어서는 플루이드 아트 기법 중 접근성이 편리하고 결과물이 탁월한 아크릴 푸어링기법을 적용시켰고, 이를 상반신 마네팅에 총 4개의 작품으로 연출하였다. 그 결과 아크릴 푸어링기법은 추상적 표현의 새로운 기법 창출 소재로 충분하였고, 푸어링의 우연적 효과에 의한 획일적이지 않은 색다른 디자인 창출은 다양한 디자인 영역에도 그 활용 가능성이 높다고 사료되며, 바디페인팅 전시를 위한 작품으로도 그 활용이 충분하였다. 이에 기존의 표현 기법에서 벗어난 플루이드 아트의 독창적인 소재는 바디페인팅 예술의 새로운 창작 가능성이 있는 것으로, 지속적인 새로운 기법 연구를 통해 획일적이지 않은 창의적인 바디페인팅으로 현대적 예술의 장르로서 더욱 확장되길 기대해 본다. In the modern times, people share various information and contents via a social network. With the emergence of diverse social media platforms such as YouTube and Pinterest, they have become new culture. Recently, fluid art, one of such diverse contents, has drawn an attention both domestically and globally as a multi-art form which is applicable to diverse fields. Under these circumstances, this study attempted to develop new abstract expression techniques by applying fluid art to exhibition works at body painting in the belief that it would also be available as a new material for body painting. For this, easy-to-access acrylic pouring which ensures great results was applied among fluid art techniques, and a total of 4 different works were designed on torso mannequins, and the results found the followings: Acrylic pouring was enough to create a new abstract expression technique. It is likely that the non-uniform, unique design resulting from incidental effects would be highly applicable to diverse design fields and also available as works for body painting exhibition. The unique material of fluid art escaping from conventional expression techniques reveals a possibility of new body painting. It is anticipated that such non-uniform creative body painting would further grow into a contemporary art genre through continued studies on new techniques.

아트 메이크업 디자인 발상을 위한 일러스트레이션 연구

Art makeup started from aesthetic instinct is granting artistic value to imagination and creative ideas as one field of arts. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to express a creative design more easily and diversely by expressing concept methods of art makeup design through illustration to manufacture real works concretely. For artists' theme and creative art makeup, as the result of attempting design process applying illustration to design concept, the study could create new and creative works on the basis of motif and express diverse designs based on design elements and principles. Illustration before manufacturing an actual object is an important process as a 'Pre-work plan', and could be applied to real works. If illustration study for design methodology and design concept makes progress together, it is thought that creative works will be manufactured.

21세기 4차 산업혁명시대의 도래로 혁신적인 기술발달과 함께 고도의 정보, 통신으로 인한 국경의 의미도 사라지기 시작하면서 세계시장에서는 경쟁력을 갖추기 위해 문화마케팅을 통한 국가의 브랜드를 구축하고 있다. 우리나라의 많은 문화유산 중 건축과 회화를 동시에 상징하는 고구려 고분벽화는 고구려인의 역동성과 창조성을 담고 있는 고유문화로 세계무대에 부족함이 없는 소재라 할 수 있다. 동양의 신비로움과 우리민족의 역량이 잘 드러난 사신도의 상징적 가치를 네일아트 작품으로 재해석함으로써 민족고유의 독창성을 알리고자하였으며, 네일아트기법에 있어 프로트랜스를 이용한 트롱프뢰유기법(Trompe-I`oeil)으로 새로운 표현방법의 확장과 색다른 흥미를 부여하고 자 총 4개의 작품으로 제작하였다. 그 결과 사신도의 생동감 넘치는 필치와 화려한 채색효과는 우리만의 독특한 소재의 표현가능성을 나타내는 모티브로 충분하였고, 사신도를 접목한 네일아트연구로 희소성 가치와 한국적 미를 표현하기에 적합하였다. 작품표현에 있어서는 트롱프뢰유기법을 토대로 벽화의 오래된 전통미와 고풍스러운 느낌을 그대로 살릴 수 있었으며, 평면위에 네일의 입체적이 부조형태에 의한 시각적인 효과가 더하였다. 이와 같이 민족문화가 존재하는 것 자체가 독특한 개성을 뜻하는 것으로 우리 전통문화의 다양한 소재와 기법을 토대로 독창적인 문화코드를 형성하여 끈임 없는 노력으로 그 가능성을 제시해야할 것이다. With the onset of the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the national border has become less important thanks to advanced information and communication along with innovative technology development. Under these circumstances, there have been efforts to build national brands through cultural marketing to stay competitive in the global market. Among many national cultural heritages, the Goguryeo tomb murals, which symbolize both architecture and painting, are a Korean traditional culture artifact that retains the dynamicity and creativity of the Goguryeo people. In fact, they are very competitive objects even in this age. The symbolic value of sasindo (the painting of four guardian gods), which well expresses the mystery of the East and the capability of the Korean people, was reinterpreted in nail art to spread the originality of the Korean people. In terms of nail art techniques, four different styles were created to expand new expression methods and give unusual fun and excitement, using pro-trans-based Trompe-I`oeil. The results found the following: The dynamic touch and fancy color of sasindo were adequate as a motif that represents the possibility of expressing one-of-a-kind materials. In addition, the murals were suitable in expressing the rare values and beauty of Korea. In terms of work expression, it was able to deliver the traditional beauty and antiquity of the murals based on Trompe-I`oeil. The cubic volume of nail on the surface made the relief design visually stand out. In sum, the existence of a national culture itself represents a unique personality. Therefore, there should be continued studies based on the diverse materials and techniques of Korean traditional culture. In addition, it is necessary to suggest possibilities with endless efforts by forming unique cultural codes.

스캠퍼 사고유형을 활용한 아트 메이크업 디자인 발상 연구

The art makeup that demands thematic sense, originality, and creativity of the artist requires the creative sense and unique expression skill, thus calling for a creative design though new idea conceptions. In this study, the design conception using scamper technique will be proposed through documentational research and empirical research in order to reveal the possibility of design conception education, and it proposes a design problem-solving process through drawing designs by understanding idea conception more easily and quickly. The empirical study using this is a step-by-step thinking process which enabled the logical and rational problem-solving for design issues, through which it intends to provide a new possibility of efficient design education to enhance design thinking abilities and creativity in beauty treatment-related education site. Also, it is expected that the study on effectiveness using this be conducted to improve it to be a professional and specialized education.
