In this study, heat transfer coefficient of phase change material was measured through experiments for the purpose of the designing automotive thermal storage device heat exchanger with Phase Change material. A conventional automotive heat exchanger filled with Solid phase change material stored thermal energy from hot engine coolant. in this case, heat transfer rate and the storage speed was interpreted as a theoretical. Considering characteristics of Phase Change Material, the design criteria for the thermal storage device heat exchangers that receives the least affected of natural convection thermal resistance and conduction thermal resistance was suggested.
